  1. CCI 20 grain are the most accurate in mine, but I haven’t used them for a long time because they weren’t as effective as the 17 grain TNT’s or BT’s.
  2. I’ve been told so. I always used to use the original eley wasp in my meteors and airsporters but they were still in production then. They were a proper fit for the old .22 bsa barrels being 5.6mm old .22 size bore.
  3. Hobby’s best pellets in my .22 hw99s. Out to 30 yards as you say Mark.??
  4. I’d put a couple of hundred pellets through it to bed it in before you worry too much about consistency. That leather seal will need a bit of time. Don’t know what calibre yours is, but the meteors I’ve had tended to run at around 8.5 - 9.5 ft lb in .22
  5. To be honest, these hmr’s are not as accurate as a .222 for example, so let’s not pretend they are. I’ve never seen a 100 yard half inch five shot group (like they show you in the magazines)from an hmr, even in still air. Neither have any of my shooting friends. All of whom can shoot ragged one hole groups with centrefires. I’ve put three in half inch on occasion, but never five. Maybe we don’t clamp our rifles down tight enough on a bench so that they can’t move, but then again, that’s not really shooting imo. Some believe the hype, but not me.
  6. It depends how much you want to spend, but if you know any small engineering shops they might be willing to make a new one for you?
  7. Not baffled? So is it a pointless exercise then?
  8. Hasn’t done that much with them hairdresser’s tyres on ?
  9. Yerr, that’s what i shot my groups with?
  10. What did you expect? I didn’t think an inch at that distance was too bad outdoors for hmr.
  11. This is what you can expect SD. I shot these with my cut down 452 off a bag on the bonnet at just about bang on 115 yards, still needs adjusting, but noted.
  12. Well, I never thought you’d say that SD?. I’m sure you’ll be better soon?
  13. We’ve had it now.......???????????????????????????????????????????????????? Which .22 are you fed up with SD?
  14. That’s good advice Ian, I’ve read the same and as I’ve said before, I also know of a couple of hmr’s that would appear to have been cleaned to death, with nowhere near 7000 rounds through them. Definitely something to be aware of.
  15. Quite a few at the moment. Numbers I’ve seen seem to have increased, a lot of young ones about now. I missed my post season squirrel bashing this year , would have been February/March but with everything that’s been going on and lockdown etc....... Still, should catch up through the summer ??
  16. That’s a fair comment Mark. Are you still low on squirrels up your way?
  17. Nice one fella. I can just imagine listening to the stream and the long tailed tits. I love to sit and watch them as they move along the trees and bushes. Sometimes becoming surrounded by them, one of my favourite birds. Well done on the shooting as well?
  18. Could do with a pair of size 11’s if you’ve got any please ??
  19. Looks good SD, but three bowls and eating them with a fork? You must be hungry ??
  20. The markings mean that they’re safe for high pressure use. Fancy a vindaloo? ?
