  1. Well, I think it looks ok, but I’m still leaning towards an impact sniper edition .22 700mm fac with the power plenum. I think it will do everything I need from a .22 air rifle.
  2. Just a pull through with a bore snake to remove moisture/residue until next time can’t be a bad thing, unnecessarily scrubbing out every time I’m not so sure if it’s a good thing. I’d think probably not.
  3. Probably using 25 grain pellets with that trajectory.
  4. Well I clean my hmr when accuracy goes off a bit and it still shoots as well as it ever did. Two other people I know cleaned there’s religiously after every outing. One of them ended up buying a new barrel for his quad, the other scrapped his rifle and bought a new tikka hmr because his was knackered too. I spent less time cleaning and less money replacing. That’s all I know. What I know for sure is that my system works for me and my rifle. Each to their own.
  5. The top secret mk3 that nobody knows about..............?
  6. I agree, I only keep mine because it’s worth nowt?
  7. The BP reminds me of the old ASI Paratrooper.
  8. Might be a few months for a variation at the moment vm, I’ve read that they’re only processing renewals until this coronavirus is under control? Anyway, get the hw100bp, let us know how you get on with it, then you’ve got the new wildcat to look forward to. Can’t have too many??
  9. I’ve been looking at the 110’s now available in laminate, in the hw100 “thumbhole” style. I’m no fan of laminate, but I was thinking that maybe they might do them in the green synthetic stock at some point also? If they do, I’d be very interested in one. Although my next air rifle will be fx.
  10. They’re alright for what they are. The thing is, I think some people expect centrefire performance from them and believe that they’re designed for long range shooting, because they’re relatively fast and flat(for a rimfire). They work pretty well for what they’re designed for, small pest species, where the frangible little bullet has good effect. For shooting squirrels on the ground out to 100 yards plus, where they’re pretty much point and shoot, I’ve had good results. That’s their forte really, but not reliable in the wind of course.
  11. Or better still, put a tow bar on the Bentley and sell the van. Then get both?......
  12. I wouldn’t even take mine out on a gusty day. It works ok for me on small vermin (mice etc) but mostly less than 100 yards. It’s handy as it’s got a 15” barrel so good from the truck. I wouldn’t get much for it if I sold it, so might as well keep it. It has its uses sometimes but I’ll take the hornet 9 times out of 10.
  13. I don’t think I’ve shot hmr 150 yards in wind, but I’d say the bullet drop is about what I’ve experienced at that distance with 110 yard zero. Scope height will have bearing as well Id think. I’ve had no problem shooting crows at that range and further. No mill dots but I can judge the drop out to as far as I shoot it anyway. Anyway, if I can’t judge an accurate shot with that scope I’m thinking it’s too far and don’t shoot.
  14. Well, there’s one towards your win??
  15. Can’t fault you Gav, I finished at 44, and 45 was my goal. Only here once fella, as far as we know?
  16. Yep, and you thought that you wouldn’t be able to retire early?
  17. They're for sale on fleabay. About £2:50 - £4:00 each. 12 for £15:00. Might be worth putting them on?
  18. Either keep ‘em, sell ‘em or raffle ‘em on here, but don’t throw them away Gav. Some enjoyable reads for somebody there fella?
  19. The tiny .17 bore and rifling would seem more delicate and prone to damage from too much over zealous rodding ?. Just my opinion, but then, wtf do I know?.........I can only relay my own experience.?
  20. Searching through my loft (well, one corner of it) a couple of days ago, I found this old shooting times article from June 10th 1972. I remember the article, it was one that reinforced my interest in shooting back in my salad days. Anyway, I’ve photographed it in case anybody’s interested. Hopefully it will be readable, if not I’ll try again?
  21. Well, I’ve used hmr since they were fairly new on these shores (you wouldn’t believe the mouse problem I had?), and I clean the bore when accuracy starts to go off. A shooting friend of mine ruined an hmr barrel by scrubbing it out after every outing. Everyone has their own opinions on this though, but I’ve only had a problem once with my regime, but I think that was related to a squib round. That’s another story......the rifle in question still shoots fine after all those years.
  22. Don’t forest lodge have them Phil?
  23. Yerr, I think that’s fast enough Ian??
