If it’s any interest to you Jake, I tried these h&n 21gr slugs along side jsb 18.1 gr pellets and also some 25.3 gr jsb slugs. I ran the pellets and h&n slugs at around 33ft lbs and zero was about the same at 50 yards, the slugs were slightly higher poi but only by about 1/4 inch. A slight breeze left to right definitely effected the slugs less. I turned up to just over 40 ft lbs and without altering the scope settings, the jsb slugs were 3rd mill dot at 90 yards.
Something fishy ? going on there I reckon ?. If they don’t have something,or can’t get it, they should come clean instead of wasting peoples time. That’s not good service at all, disappointing to say the least.?
Top shooting Mark. You haven’t had a squirrel in two years? I remember some of your posts a few years back on another forum, when you had them lined up most weeks. I particularly remember a row of squirrels along a stone wall, there were a good few there fella??. Did you wipe them out??
What’s the mp651 like for power John? They aren’t a bad price. Will they punch through a baked bean can? I know some of these co2 pistols will barely puncture a cardboard box.
I think that the main reason that it hasn’t been taken up, is that it would involve so much work. As said before, they’d have to contend with ten times or more the number of licenses that there will be in Scotland. Look at the hopeless shambles that turned out to be. I wonder what “improvements “ they have GENUINELY seen in Scotland since licensing began? If it wasn’t so obviously going to be a logistical nightmare to deal with in England and Wales, I’m fairly sure they’d have brought it in by now. After all, it’s been talked about for decades. We all know that it would be a waste of time and
This was looked into last year at a coroner’s request. Didn’t come to anything. I was told by a reliable source that the police didn’t want it. It would be such a complete mess and wouldn’t achieve the desired outcome anyway. People who misuse and cause problems with airguns, or anything else for that matter, wouldn’t take any notice of it. Personally, I don’t think the police would have the time or recourses to implement it, and they have far more important issues to contend with anyway. That’s just my opinion.
It wouldn’t achieve anything anyway. Only responsible people would abide by it. The idiots who misuse airguns would ignore it. The police aren’t stupid and will know this.
What do you think would probably be a good reg pressure for a .22 impact with 700mm barrel vm? Mine is at 95 bar at the moment and I haven’t tried it at any other pressure other than 65 bar that it was set at (32ft lb)out of the box. It’s got a power plenum and it was running at around 43 ft lb on maximum at 95 bar reg pressure with 21 grain slugs. I’ve turned the hammer spring tension down a bit and it’s at 40ft lb now on max. Would going up to 125 bar be an advantage in .22 or do you think it would be too much ? Sorry about all the questions vm, but I know you have the .22 crown as well a
Yep, I’m sure some of the people I know think that you just open a box on shoot day and the birds fly over them. Work, repairing pens, electric fencing, feeding, worming, controlling vermin, etc, what’s that ?
