  1. What speed are you running the 21grain h&n’s at VM?
  2. Would you like them lighter than 21 grain VM? I’ve got some of the h&n 21 grain, which I’ve put over the chrono at 933fps. I haven’t had chance to test accuracy yet though. I’ve also got a tin of the jsb 25 grain slugs, but haven’t tried these at all yet. Just had time to turn the power down and set up with jsb 18.1’s at 35 yards, which were literally going through the same hole, then put a tin can out at eighty yards and shredding it with ease. I’m looking forward to shooting the slugs at longer range.
  3. Just managed to get back on here, had a glitch I think? (Thanks for the info vm). The white thing is my daughters hot tub Phil?
  4. But everybody knows that red means faster. So they must be better.......??
  5. Yerr, hopefully this virus is going to continue to fall in R rate and shows can go ahead safely. Next few months will be the test. Let’s hope it keeps going the right way and we don’t get another spike towards the end of the year. I hope people are sensible and don’t become complacent, that’ll be the downfall I reckon.
  6. I think you probably picked a winner David?
  7. Hells teeth SD, dem mices ?av’ had it for sure?
  8. Looks like cometa are selling themselves short then.
  9. Cometa 100 is advertised at 525fps in .22, so probably somewhere between 8 and 9 ft lbs. Should kill a pigeon at short distance, but not the best choice for the job is it? ?
  10. If you ask nicely, he might even put a hair curler conversion in the sharp end for ya’ as well, then it will be smoother and quieter ??
  11. I sometimes use an old Webley senior .22 air pistol for humane dispatch in cage traps, but the range is only a couple of feet maximum. It runs at about 4 - 5 ft lbs and I won’t use it on squirrels because I don’t believe it has enough punch to put them down instantly. It seems to do rats ok, but as others have said, use a rifle. I wouldn’t attempt to shoot rats, even at a few yards with an air pistol. Even if you’re a crack shot with a pistol, the striking energy of the pellet would be marginal at best in my opinion.
  12. Yerr, slowed down too much to expand at that range. Mouse guns rule ??
  13. I’m not spending money like that. I’ll stick with what I’ve got, never lets me down?
  14. I don’t think you’d get that result on a squirrel with hmr v-max. More likely shrapnel inside or a mess of an exit, or probably both if the bullet ran full length of the squirrel. One thing I’d say about hmr v-max, absolute mustard on squirrels imo ?. Edit to say, you’re right about the .22 v-max in a hornet load SD, the squirrel would be blown apart.
  15. I sold my birds many years ago, I only keep poultry now. I really miss my goldies though.
  16. Just a short review in case anyone’s thinking about getting into the pcp game without spending the thick end of a grand or more. I was handed an AT44-10 in .22, and asked if I could set it up for the owner. I have a Hatsan spring rifle, but I’ve never had a shot with any of their pcp range. The trigger is heavier than I expected on this example, but the magazine and loading system worked well enough. Definitely a little bit stiffer in operation than an hw100, but nothing to complain about. This example was pellet fussy, particularly with flat head and hollow point pellets. JSB exact were spot
  17. Is that hair curler off that small woman who gave you the curler for the 97 si ? ?
  18. Same with mine but the other way round.
  19. They are definitely the worst in mine.
