I forgot about a couple of squirrels in the back of my truck for about four days in summer. When I opened the door? They had seeped their juices out and glued themselves to the mat. Had to leave the windows down for a bit after that?

On The Bench....Vulcan Mk1
Dervburner replied to Dervburner's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I went out to check a trap line this morning, so I grabbed the Vulcan and a box of marksman pellets for a bit of plinking and running in. I probably plinked about fifty odd pellets at a tin can, found it to be shooting to the left. No scope on at the moment, so a few clicks later I was on the tin can. Nothing very technical here, but I decided to have a bit of group testing. Marksman pellets for testing accuracy? Well, with the open sights, I wasn’t going to be stretching the range much, in fact the first group was shooting at a mark on a tree at ten paces no less? I hadn’t taken any proper ta -
Anyone mess with .17rem/.17 rem fire ball ?
Dervburner replied to Wolfdog91's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
That’s what put me off, I could’ve made good use of a .17 fireball but I haven’t got the time or the inclination to reload for it. -
Yerr, let us know how you get on Phill. If you’ve got a bit of land I don’t think you’ll have much trouble getting fac air fella, powder burners obviously have a much greater potential to carry much further and will therefore be considered as a higher risk to public safety, especially regarding new applicants who may or may not be less experienced in understanding backstops etc. That’s not saying that you don’t Phill, but as far as the issuing authorities are concerned, they don’t know you, so it’s understandable that bigger calibres will more likely be granted after spending some time using s

Had mine since before they changed it all and no need to lock shotguns up and rifles on a chain screwed to wall. So, I don’t know about waiting times these days. Last variation took about two weeks and last renewal was by phone. They phoned about three weeks after I submitted my paperwork and was told the certificates would be with me in a few weeks. Not arrived yet, but I’ve still got plenty of time left on my existing tickets, plus eight weeks beyond if required.

Example:- Air Rifle .22 Sound Moderator .22 Air Rifle .25 Sound Moderator .25 Rifle .22 Rimfire Sound Moderator .22 etc.......... As VM says, no need to enter inert ammunition such as airgun pellets etc, live ammunition for rimfire/centrefire will need to be entered though.

Yerr, it’ll always happen I suppose....... ??

TX 200 HC MK3 .177 , after the crop damaging wood pigeons.

Have a look at Custom Stocks Sheffield Mark. Those TX’s look mint in a cs800?? -
It looks like a good design. I’d make a couple of those myself but I think they’d get nicked before long, unless I could find a way of securing the box and traps. I’ll have to have a think about it. Had three Larsens opened and tipped over again last week?

On The Bench....Vulcan Mk1
Dervburner replied to Dervburner's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Well, it works. Feels much smoother to shoot that before, but it still has its familiar quick shot cycle. I’ve found an old box of marksman pellets, so I’m going to plink them away to let it settle down. After that I’ll do some chrono and accuracy testing. -
Different areas have different approaches. A friend of mine had .223 open but when he applied for .243 it was closed for that calibre until he had experience with it.

H&N finale match are accurate at 30 yards in my hw100, they start to open up at 35 yards though. I believe they start to lose stability at range due to their design.

On The Bench....Vulcan Mk1
Dervburner replied to Dervburner's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Got the spring and piston etc lubed and back in and the barrel on. Next, just the trigger assembly. I’m thinking I might see if a cz rimfire spring will replace this original Webley trigger spring. If they fit, I think I’ve got a lighter spring that could be worth a try? The trigger and sear are well worn into each other, so I don’t think any amount of further polishing would be beneficial really. -
Brilliant ??

They’re designed as a cheap plinker Callum. Apart from a bit of polishing of moving parts and decent lubrication, that’s probably as far as it’s worth going with these. Ok for the money, but they are what they are, agricultural, but they seem to keep working. I’ve seen them used on fair grounds so they get some use and abuse on there.
