    If you mean the baracuda 18’s, I haven’t tried them. I just found a tin of ftt’s and thought I’d try them to see if they were accurate at higher speed than a 12ft lb rifle velocity. I didn’t expect good results with them to be honest. It seems they’re ok at mid twenties ft lb but start to go off at about 27 ish. I did turn it up to about 40 and they were all over the place. The baracuda 18’s would be interesting and probably better in fac?

    I thought I’d try these in the impact .22 as I had a few left. These were the 5.53 head size. I tried them on minimum power setting and at 840 FPS just over 22 ft lbs they were shooting half inch at 45 yards so not bad. I thought I’d turn the power up a couple of settings at power 1 about 24.5 ft lbs, again, they were fairly accurate. That’s about as fast as they liked as on power 2 at 900 FPS / 26.2 ft lb they opened up to over an inch. So, they seem ok up to around 850/860 FPS. If anybody’s still reading this drivel I finished with a bit of 90 yard plinking with jsb 18.1’s on power 4 / 34.5

    Has anyone on here used a Yukon photon? They’re reasonably cheap used and I was thinking of putting one on a .22 for night time rabbits. I realise that they aren’t the latest technology, but for a couple of hundred to put on a .22, worth it?

    How are you getting on with the 008 Ben? I’ve been considering one myself but never used one. As I said, I couldn’t get on with the 007. Also, I found the pulsar a pain. There’s a few Yukon’s on fleabay atm, I might have a bid, not sure though?

    Mine was an early one, just standard dovetails. I think I used an ASI or Nikko 4x32 on it and it was ok. No mill dots, just 30/30 ret. I think the fixed mag scopes are probably less prone to fail due to less moving parts. I’ve had a 4x40 Japanese Apollo fourstar on a Theoben gas rammer for 30 years, never loses zero.

    That’s crap Jake. Mine was a great little rifle, bought it sometime in early nineties I think. Are they made in Birmingham or Spain now?

    What about the Yukon’s ? I couldn’t really get on with pard 007, but haven’t tried 008.........yet. But I can’t get on with add ons.

    Well that’s not good. Will you be getting another one, seems like the one you got hadn’t been maintained very well. I thought they were fairly durable.
