  1. I think there’s a line where complexity (and cost) overtakes practically. The mk2 is more than capable enough for me, I won’t be buying a mk3, that’s for sure. I like fx, but I’m giving this one a big??? way ott for me?
  2. Well, now I remember why I welded the nut onto the cylinder all those years ago. After grinding the nut away, I attempted to drill out the offending snapped off stud. It turns out the the remains of the stud is harder than my hss drill bits. Hmm, now I’ve got a plan that’s so cunning that it might just work?
  3. It depends if it’s worth it for you Phil, or if pellets are good enough for your application? If you decide to go ahead with updating your impact I think it might be worth talking to livens as they do a lot with fx guns. I’m sure a discussion with them would help you decide if the cost is worth it, or maybe it would be better to trade in for a new mk2?
  4. Good footage FD and nice to see a bit of decent weather for a change ??
  5. I dug out my .177 mk1 Vulcan yesterday. I had this rifle new in 1979 when they first came out, it was bought for me by my uncle from John.S.Topliss gun shop on Wighay Bridge, Huchnall. When I first had it, I used it daily, and it’s had so many pellets through it that I couldn’t even begin to guess, it had so much use that I’m surprised that it wasn’t completely worn out long ago, so for the first time it had seen daylight in a few years, I put a few jsb diabolo’s through it. After a dozen or so shots, it settled at around 11.5 ft lbs but with the horrible ox spring, that I fitted many years ag
  6. Yerr, 32 gram 5’s knock ‘em fella. Good shooting ??
  7. Blue were they? I like blue ones, but then, red ones are nice too. I like green ones as well, and orange........hang on?? Anyway, they’re my favourites ?? Ive never seen the melior’s for sale, but I’ll give them a go if I see them at a good price. Just out of interest, what colour are they??..... Sorry, I’ll get my coat???
  8. I think we might have strayed slightly off piste again?.......?
  9. Yerr, I know vm, just joking. My hw100 likes the jsb 10.3’s as well. Saying that, I’ve been trying a few h&n finale match high speed mainly because they were cheap old stock and they seem to work well, accurate at 30 yards anyway. I got some hollow points cheap as well, haven’t tried them yet though.?
  10. Bleddy ‘ell vm, crown broke? ? Good shooting, nice stock. ??
  11. Yerr, reminds me of Clint in Gran Torino.......?
  12. So lovely to see them all lined up together........??
  13. As tss #9’s out performs lead #5’s, a considerably lesser load can be used whilst still retaining performance. This might be the way to go to keep costs down?
  14. Looks good, does he do a vegan version? ?

  16. Like .22 rimfire bullets made out of compressed copper dust. Load of crap. Don’t know what the rws/norma offerings are like?
  17. It will be interesting to see how you get on with the multi trap Ben. Loads of crows, jacks and rooks about here.?
