    There is apparently a stumpy 100gn 6mm bullet. Some manufacturers are speeding up the twist on 243w barrels. It's utter bigotry and prejudice driving this. My advice is stock up and hide it.

    I've been after fallow, closest I got was listening to some leg it ? My local roe that moved in two years ago seem to of disappeared. It also coincides with mysterious tyre tracks about that go back to neighboring shoot! Should of just bagged them but it's not how I roll.

    I can send you any amount of urine over. No problems. May not be fox though. There isn't many trapping fox here buddy. Some are snared. Might work there.

    There are products available but it's relatively easy to just go hunt one. Calling is probably more useful than scenting.

    I use to rub a little fox on my coats. It accounted for a few. But no. They are plentiful to go and find usually.

    Old school. Lamping. Good stalk. He moved off, not lamp shy but suspected something. I caught him up 300yds later bedded down in a field just out of the cool wind. I kept inching closer as he snoozed but freezing as he took a look around. When I got that feeling he is going to see me in the moonlight and run I decided to take the shot. I got on the tripod and pressed the pressure switch for the gun light. Nowhere to be seen! Turns out he was napping and I had to wait for him to look around. When he did I took aim.     Been testing a topsy turvey Valmet for a few days now. I don't like 26" barrels or topsey turvey guns as a rule but wow, this one comes up spot on every time and follows through. I've taken pheasants, crows, pigeon and squirrels with it and not paid for it yet!

    Yes which is why I was surprised it , what ever it was, was saying unstable. I can understand the faster twist for a heavy long subsonic bullet because of low velocity. There must be a few lighter options that will stabilize and possibly some stumpy options. Has every rifle got to be 500yd capable? ?

    One one place I've been playing cat and mouse with a fox for a few months now. Seen him a few times, at least once he followed me but I couldn't quite see my sights in the evening light. Nearly as he came into me mouse squeaking and I was just able to make the sights out at 60yds but he made me just before I fired. He had followed my trail out of the forrest, I had a feeling and waited but never got the shot. Skip forward a few weeks and while stalking fallow we bumped into each other.     I've been invited to a rough shoot tomorrow with an ex world champ clay shot! I'm a little nervous but I've been told it is a ROUGH shoot and I may shoot only two cartridges and need the gun as a walking stick! Got a stinking head cold too.

    Most 308 rifles will stabilize 200gn traditional bullets. They are quite long but come out of a 308 quite slow! Is there any recommendations by the bullet or ammunition producers regarding twist?

    Loads of times, HMR, WMR, 410, 12g and air. Go get them.

    I think you will find that the majority of 22 shooters all find that after cleaning their barrel a number of shots are required for good accuracy to return. Most target shooting is not conducted in competition from a clean barrel, they will of fouled it first! The op of this thread indicated he shoots from a clean barrel all the time. Not necessary. Its not even a target type rifle!
