Wolfie, you need a grenade to tidy that room up a little! ? -
A friend of mine has just opened a bistro. I asked him if he has tried rabbit. No he said so I got him one. He loved it and asked me to get two for the restaurant.

The cz manual is doing what is generally known as ' covering their arse'. Millions of 22 shooters will tell you the same as me buddy. If you think about what they have written they are not concerned with dirt or fouling but condensation causing corrosion. You do whatever.- 26 replies

I think that sums you up really well. If what I said winds you up so much that your ego takes president over your brain maybe you are not suitable to have a firearms license.

Took a walk with the SKB this afternoon. Man was it hot. Downed a few squirrels and bagged a cock bird and woodie. Watched a cock sparrow hawk hunting hundreds of chaff finches and just getting confused. Hunting in a shirt in October!

RWS Subsonic Hollow Points 40 Grain
Sausagedog replied to Rimfire Rifles Freedom's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
You are not supposed to clean a 22lr barrel all the time. It needs to get a complete coating of bullet lube for the bullet lube to work on each shot. You may lose the fliers if you stop cleaning it! A 22 barrel does not ever get hot enough for heat to be an issue unless you have a belt fed auto.- 26 replies

Shot placement was perfect, that is why I said it was dead but needed convincing. In the past I have seen other large foxes carry a killing shot a short distance. From 357, 308, 270, 6.5mm, 243, 222, 223, 22hornet and 17remington, 22wmr and 22 LR. No, they are not particularly tough but they certainly don't want to die either. I have no issue if they don't go straight down. Just that I got the first one in the vitals. Thanks for sharing your opinion (again) although not being asked for it. I am prepping myself for your next comments right this minute, half expecting somethi

Something I got off eBay Dave. I wanted to try another. Its quite raspy and does crow also. It did make the one in the wood reappear and a barn owl swooped in that made me jump loll . I forget its name....oh, Fox callers. The Terminator lol, stupid name.

Got a big bruiser tonight. I think it was sleeping in the field I was crossing. I only saw it as it legged it into a wood. I had been lamping as I went but out of nowhere it appeared. I was heading to where I heard a vixen just prior. Anyway set the tripod. Turned the add-on, on and started squealing. Eventually I coaxed it into the field and shot him around 80+. Took only the one to kill him but another three convinced him after some protesting. Because of that I knew he was a big lad! Only the big lads soak them up like that! I then went to another farm and stalked

My old keeper friend was a wise humble man. He could magic birds in to his drives. I would hear him whistling them every feed time. He basically trained his birds to the whistle! He was though fully aware that foxes knew what his whistle meant, dinner time! If he had trouble he would call me and have me just wait on the ride to wait for the attack. Just shoot it and leave it, tell me and I'll sort it tomorrow. Just slip away best you can. We got that good he just use to say where and a rough time. I must phone him. See how he is. 87 now. -

I wish some small shoots would sell a day for muzzleloaders. We only want a few birds a day and four small drives, done slowly would make for a good time for muzzleloaders. Even walked up would do. -

I've been out when they arrive. I was a young man and a few basically dropped out of the sky and I could walk up to them they were so tired. Foxes must take a few on that night. I've seen two tonight. -
We use to light them up with sodium chlorate and sugar. That got their attention!
-
Had one, and a 22 hornet/12g. Very good actually but a bit crude.

They do Ben, experience it regularly. If I carry a shotgun in hand they stay put in the field. Rifle over the shoulder they disappear pronto!

Put a woodcock up Sunday. It was an area with a indigenous population. It was nice to see, especially for a sportsman. -
I was after a fallow buck yesterday afternoon but after the heavy rain that morning everyone and his brother came out for the afternoon. Voices everywhere. I give up and went after a rabbit instead. Had to mooch about until nearly to dark.

I wouldn't shoot trucks with mine. Something a bit stronger I feel would be better....
