My Mrs goes through phases Wolfie. Usually hourly too!

If I was shooting many yes. I'm only shooting a few when I do my rounds. If there are many I usually use a shotgun. Can't be arsed with a popgun Dave.

Actually it doesn't make that much mess. Some get opened up.

The Unintended Keeper ( Diary of a keeping blagger )
Sausagedog replied to Stavross's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
When I find walkers think they have found a nice new walk I go zeroing my rifles, test black powder loads and shoot pigeons, in fact anything that makes as much noise as possible. The last time someone kicked off I told them to phone the police. Gave them my name and phone number I'll be waiting for their call. Never happened. Another time I had a nosey magistrate woman ask me what I am shooting. I informed her it is of no concern of hers. She didn't know what to say. She ain't wearing the trousers in my presence! -

I did it once by accident. It was beaters day. I was in thick cover. Someone shouted " on the left". I looked up and fired. It all happened so fast. When my dog brought it to me I thought, oopsie! -

Back to archery for me if it happens. No internet chat then also. The world is going mad. People are just getting more and more selfish. No respect. No etiquette. -

Be alright with a bit of a rinse ?? -
They, basic are indeed getting loads of flak and membership is demonising. Basic have backed themselves into a corner trying to preserve the habits of the perverse who can throw any amount of money at ammunition to continue slaughtering pheasants without criticism or challenge. And to add, at the cost of the wee man or small family and friends shoot.

That's where it got to.....I knew I'd hit it.....

??. Yep, lead is used everywhere but us shooting folk, causing so much harm. Needs to stop! Mercury tooth fillings are fine though ????. Using lead on roofs, no problem. Just good old BS mate.

Been out today all day and bagged nothing. Saw plenty of wildlife. Finches, treecreepers, woodcock's. It was grand, right up to the point some ramblers came walking through and everything just disappeared! Why do they bother, they see nothing at all! I had a young male peregrine hunting redwings at speed right in front of me. They though see nothing. Can't they just walk around a municipal town park for a few laps instead.

Yes I know all that my friend. I don't think however it will be any more confusing than twist choices in 223! If they do get confused maybe the should not be out their with a rifle in the first place!!

I was offered the job on the estate, said no thank you. I saw how they like to control you once you are on the payroll. -
I don't quite understand KimE but will add that they have speeded up the twist of 243.

The Unintended Keeper ( Diary of a keeping blagger )

I think the word will go around amongst the private wealthy shoots that the current state of affairs is unsustainable. I had three years on a wealthy private estate under the old time keeper. I had total freedom of the 5000 acre estate. Shoot all vermin, trapping too . I got fuel, ammo and all the firewood I wanted. The gather only provided 3000 poults but we shot ten days always in excess of 300 bird days. The keeper depended on wild birds to boost the numbers. I had to report all young wild broods found. We were out every Friday night until gone midnight. Year #1 resulted in 1 -

That wild bird shoot sounds interesting. Kill more vermin, some more vermin and more vermin I bet. -
