  1. I used to live there!!!!!!! Were abouts? Someone wise once said "Worthing the place people go to die and then forget why they went" Otherwise known as "God's Waiting Room" same as Eastbourne!
  2. Looks like hes coming on well for 5 months You will be in trouble with the old dears in Horsham if you catch all their pigeons Theres some good spots in and around Horsham, can be slightly "warm" though
  3. Try ebay, seem to be cheaper tan anywhere else and have had no problem with the quality

    POLICE SCUM

The interesting thing about these police threads is that its always the same people sticking up for them regardless of what they've done
  5. im also local to you, seems to be a few more of us southerners on here now. Welcome on board
  6. Nice looking bitch mate, good to see a few more local bods on here
  7. Beautiful dogs mate. i work lurchers now but looking at all the shoot day pics makes me miss my lab.
  8. Yeah, thats a hot smoker. To cold smoke you need to run the smoke through a flue of somekind to cool it so it doesnt cook the food just smokes it. That seems easy but i bet there is a right and a wrong way of making the thing draw properly and a right length of flue etc. Looks like it might have to be a bit of trial and error!
  9. Thats what I'd be using for sure if i had the buggers dissapearing of the finder! Suppose i'm lucky really, don't have too many deep one's. Oh by the way, i filled it back in, never to be dug again! it always amazes me how deep some of them go. im talking 10 - 20 hole burys in hedges 1.5m wide by 3-5m long and they spend most of their time so deep i cant even detect them! i was told the deeper the bury the older it is but dont know if its true, if it is these hedges must be ancient!
  10. Looking to make a hot and cold smoker, got a rough idea of how to do it but any ideas, designs or plans appreiciated
  11. Lost most of the rabbits round here to it this year. Been a bad year for it. it means im scratching around trying to find enough rabbits to bring the dogs on when last year the same places were heaving with them. Whoever thought it up has alot to answer for, it looks a terrible way to die.
  12. i reckon it all depends on your ground. i usually work jills as i want bolters and dont want to dig as most of the burys we work go off the scale on the mark 3. Much though i love my ferreting i wouldnt want to be digging 14 foot holes under hedges for every rabbit and im sure the land owner wouldnt like it either. Thats what i like about these forums, the chance to see how its done differently by other people. Happy hunting!
  13. Thanks for the replies, had to put it into practice this week. Tyla came off second best with a fence and ended up with some nasty cuts on her chest. i was able to glue and steri strip two of them but the third, a 4" gash in her armpit had to be stapled by the vet. She timed it perfectly so she willbe out of action until next full moon
  14. i have now come to know crawley as a bit of a mad place! nothing surprises me! i only commented on the dog cos the girl who had him was of the attractive persuasion! and she said, oh you can have it if you want! went down on sat to pick him up, and hes happy with RustyG now, hes making a big fuss of him as we speak! pretends to be a big hard lad untill he gets a mutt infront of him, turns him into a wimpering hussy!! Yeah, Crawley can be a bit of a hole, too many trevs for my liking. Having said that got a fair few mate from up that way Sounds like a bit of luck you had there mate
  15. Nice looking dog mate. The one we are bringing on this season is first cross JRT/Whippet, reckon he will take his first on the lamp any time now He will bring a new dimension to your camping and hunting trips for sure! Crawley is only 5 mins up the road, your lucky my missus didnt know about that dog - she'd have snapped him up for sure!
  16. Agreed. i have a 14 yr old CB2 from cluson and itsstill going strong. Replaced bulb and battery over the years but never had a problem with it and the firm are great, really good to deal with
  17. Thought you would like it £26 for 2 fish ticket or £31 for 3 fish. They have a web site www.chalksprings.co.uk it think but try google. Not sure that its open at night though
  18. well done tyla what fly did ye catch it on was it a gold headed one Hmm .... now your asking We used a few during the day. The one i caught on had a white tail, silver and black body and silver eyes. My mate had one on the same fly and and the other two on one with opposite colours, black tail, white and silver body and silver eyes. We also tried white and olive nymphs which they would follow but not take and a blood worm which they ignored! Cheers sounds like a dog nobbler good flys them and bloody well done mate. Cheers
  19. its all about practice mate. Practice your accuracy until you can hit a 1" target everytime at 30 yards and practice your fieldcraft. You have to learn to stalk, use the wind, walk quietly, use cover, react to the actions of your quarry etc. Many people on here have been hunting since they were kids and all these skills just come naturally but everyone had to learn sometime. Once you have your accuracy sorted find a spot within range of where the rabbits usually come out, make sure the wind is coming from them to you. Sit in ambush there either just after dawn or just before dusk, keep
  20. Sorry mate, your wrong. Used to be, and could still be in places, common practice in the indian ocean and arabian sea. Cats too, anything that gives off strong distress signals works well as bait apparently.
  21. Bizarre looking squirrel! Looks like an escapee exotic, never knew there were any other than the reds and greys kicking about, anyone else heard of this?
  22. i think there is a guy on here who works them. Judging by his posts they seem to do a good job. Put a post up in the lurcher section and he might be able to give you all the info
