  3. Took Tyla out for the first time last night since she got hurt. The plan was for my mate to shoot a few with the air rifle and for her to retrieve them as a confidence builder. The weather was crap still, light and foggy in places Anyway, first field lots of rabbits but lamp shy except one. Got within range and my mate fired, i thought he hit and slipped her. He hadnt but she turned it twice and caught it The rest of the night was the same, few rabbits and no hard slips but she caught three of the four she was slipped on. The puppy came within inches of taking his first ever rabbit on
  4. Good job mate i re-did mine a coupleof weeks back. Didnt use a stencil but it turned out ok i think.
  5. is the gun still for sale mate? Where abouts in east sussex are you as i would come and pick it up? Cheers

You and me both, the fake fags help but i only manage a couple of months tops then come unstuck again. Been trying to quit for years but got f*ck all will power
  7. Thats good advice. Can anyone recommend an ambi .177 lightweight pcp?
  8. Mine will give it a go but havent connected on their own yet. They were oblivious to them til they saw me shoot a few but now keep a good eye on the trees There must be quite an art to catching them on the ground, sounds like a good dog.
  9. Thats a quality gun, i used to use one years ago. Very pointable, something really nice about them i am pretty sure he is after pneumatic though as he already has the bottle etc and has always used them. Any other options? They must have brought out some ambi guns in the last few years while i've been distracted?
  10. My mate who i used to shoot with has just called. After a couple of years lapse he wants to take it up again. The only problem is that he sold his gun when he stopped using it Just to be difficult he is left handed and wants a .20 although he says he will settle for .177. So, what he wants is an ambi or l/handed, lightweight, single shot pneumatic rifle in .20 or .177. The obvious choice is a falcon but that would mean buying new unless anyone on here just so happens to have one laying about i've not bought a new airgun for years and am a bit out of touch so what is your advi
  11. He is an all rounder. I started him ratting and he has caught me rabbits. He hunted with a pointer when young and will hunt pheasant has an amazing nose. I never sent him to ground was too young(11 when i got him) plus i had no one to show me the digging ropes. If i got pups I would keep two on and look into putting them to ground. I think my dog may have been wausted because i was so young I am sure he would of been good at foxing. Thanks for your reply much appreciated if you want a pup and reckon he has served you well then find a good proven bitch and get pups pal Great little s
  12. Not cheap but not impossible. i should have bought one in mozambique, would've been pence!
  13. ideal So whats your recommended supplier for one of these in the uk?
  14. Cheers Mackem, wouldnt want to do anything illegal Are they purely used for small fish or would they work on larger, say up to 2 or 3lbs? i got to use a gill net once, not in this country, but somehow the cast net is more appealing
  15. Hmmm .... you've got me interestred now. What net would you recomend for uk use? i've seen them used in lots of countries and always fancied the idea but never had the chance to have a go. What diameter and mesh size for instance?
  16. Ha Ha!!! My wonderful other half has just found the picture on my phone! For reasons i dont understand it had saved it in a wierd place im quite pleased with the new paint job
  17. Cheers mate, the worst thing was that it was nicked from the van while i was up the scaffolding so it must be someone on the same site. if i find out who he will wish he had been run over, and then i will want all my shooting pics back that were on it!
  18. Went out with the newly sprayed falcon today after a quick zeroing session. Had a wander around the same bit of permission as last time. After setting up a feeder as a bait station for squirrels, pigeons etc. i had a stroll around and and a good bit of shooting. Three rabbits, two pigeons and a squirrel! i should have had a magpie too but fluffed the shot and another squirrel, i could see his head only poked round the trunk, took the shot, heard the hit but when i went to pick him up there was nothing but some blood flecks on the pallet stack below i hate it when things are wounded and cant
  19. Thats good, pretty much what i was thinking of. Just wanted to make sure i wasnt wasting my time. Do you set them like a tiny long net or just hang them off whatever is available? Pics would be great if anyone has any
  20. This site is a great resource for hunters and i have really enjoyed using it. Unfortunately it seems to be being overrun by idiots. There seem to be a spate of new(ish) members posting pointless sh*t, personal abuse etc. i have just recieved a PM titled "f*ck you" by badboy2, its hardly a literary masterpiece, i assume its because of a fairly harmless suggestion on my part that he post less and read more as his pointless rude posts to another member were clogging up the thread. i understand the internet is riddled with clowns who enjoy swearing at people, from the saftey of their bed
  21. lmao, i was out once and the lamp died. Walking back in the pitch dark, climbed over a fence and trod on what i assume was a badger!!! i leapt about 5 foot in the air and it thrashed about roaring and growling and then disappeared. The shock near on killed me! it was one of those utterly dark moonless nights and i couldnt see a thing, i was f*cking nervous forthe rest of the way back!
  22. i agree mate. i used to have a pedigree yellow lab whos primary job was picking up but he was the tall rangy working type and had a good turn of speed on him. Caught and killed two foxes in daytime and used to regularly catch rabbits. i discouraged him as hunting for himself made him a bit wayward for picking up but im sure he could have fathered some good first crosses on the right grew bitch. Oh, and Badboy2, if you got nothing useful to say then stop typing - theres is enough to read through on here without having to skim through your pointless posts FAIR PLAY MATE. I LIK
