My mate had one on the same fly and and the other two on one with opposite colours, black tail, white and silver body and silver eyes. We also tried white and olive nymphs which they would follow but not take and a blood worm which they ignored! Cheers

Dont get too down, a couple months ago my bitch jumped a log after a rabbit and drove a piece of wood three inches into the inside of her thigh. it was a huge hole you could see right into her leg  i thought that was the season over and was gutted as its her first proper season. Got her to the emergency vets and they operated straight away (thank feck for insurance) Anyway, within a week she seemed fine but kept her to the lead walks for three weeks as the vet said. As soon as i let her off she was away as quick as ever Shes now back to work with no ill affects and fit as you l

My mate is taking me fly fishing tomorrow for the first time. He gave me a couple of hours lesson today and i was surprised to find the casting quite easy. Sure it will be a different ball game when i try it for real though. i will be fishing a stocked fishery in sussex so im sure the fish will be there the only question will be whether i can catch one. Does anyone have any useful advice?

So they do exist Next time you see him ask if he wants to transfer and become my local bobby!

You are so right, i've yet to meet one worth speaking to. Sure there must be a few good 'uns but they are few and far between. There has to be something strange about a person who chooses to do a job that ensures you are universally hated, the same as traffic wardens. Given the choice i avoid them like the plague Now have you ever called the Police for help? Avoid like the "Plague" Whats strange about having the best pension in the uk, recieving a whacking lump sum, retiring at 45! God id be a Policeman anytime! Thought you were mate As for calling the

Lurcher Link gets my vote, the other charities get help from all over the place. Also you never know when any one of us might be relying on them to help find our dogs

We mix and match. Got a pen outdoors but when we are in they come in. My bitch comes to work with me so she barely sees the pen but used to be in there every day, dont reckon it made any difference to her working

I dont eat f***ing corn-fed chicken, thats the wife and kids,I get thrown morsels of corn-fed chicken and bones You get 24 chicken legs in the average kilo, your right, same as chicken feet, lots of bone I wonder if we could corner the market in toad-warts?Or fish-gills? I once ate a starling  i've eaten lots of starlings. When we were kids we'd go apple picking and camp in the orchard, problem was we always spent all the money on cider and ran out of food. Used to live off the airgun and what we could nick from the allotments. Rabbits were hard work for a cider hazed teen

Two nights ago my mate had his Falcon Raptor .22 stolen out his van on the driveway. Got no pics as he only had it a couple of days. its in a lighthunter stock off a single shot gun so has the cut out for the locking handle on the right, has a 4-12x50 Webley scope with parallax and has the black UNF thread silencer adaptor and, i think, the light weight parker hale silencer on. The filling valve cover is brass and it was in a green falcon gunbag. The guy only had it a few days and never got to use it, he's just got into shooting and is keen so this is a proper set back. The b*****ds jemmie

i dont get it, how many people a year top themselves with paracetamol? Do the daft bobbys want that banned? ...... NO! But one guy with obvious mental health issues kills himself with an airgun and every Tom, Dick and Harry is bleating for them to be banned? i wonder, .... could there be another agenda?

Why not? it is frowned upon admittedly and certainly not sporting but sometimes its necessary. When i worked as an underkeeper we used to thin out the cock birds at the end of the season with the rifle if the guns hadnt done too well on the cocks only days. i've also been asked to get rid of pheasants at stables where they were spooking horses during lessons and in gardens where they were roosting and crowing and upsetting the owner. i also take the odd one for the pot on one of my permissions where the landowner dosent mind. i am not condoning slaughtering them with the rifle at every opp
