  1. OK, im planning a new tattoo. A rabbit going full pelt, stretched out. Any pictures i could give to the tattooist to work from? Much appreiciated
  2. A good read. Reminds me of Tyla, im hoping she will come good this season. Not a good start for her though, she speared herself on something on sunday so is in and out of the vets and out of action for a while now
  3. Reckon that depends on whether she really wants to be there and whether she knows what shes supposed to do. My missus had never done it till we met but then she has her own dog and gun and enjoys it! Maybe not as much as me but shes getting there!
  4. hi mate get on the phone to deben and tell them your problem, my mate had a hell of alot of trouble with his and sent it back to deben two or three times and they told him it needed re-calobrating. Bugger, thought that might be the case. i was hoping someone would come up with a magic cure! Oh well, deben it is!
  5. My mark 3 has stopped working. i've got no idea why, its got brand new batteries in both collar and reciever and all it does is make a feeble squeak when turned off or on. it worked fine all last season. Any ideas?
  6. Couldnt put it any better myself. Well said Mackem

Bad luck with cars mate? Join the club I bought a car a week ago because my old one died. I went fishing on friday with mackem. We got back to the car loaded the stuff in the boot and jumped in to realise some horrible little c**t had jumped on the windscreen. It was completely shattered you couldn't see a thing out of it. We looked at each other and burst out laughing it was either that or cry . Mackem done a grand job of kicking the windscreen out then proceeded to sit on the broken glass Luckily we saw the funny side and came to the conclusion that a car with no windscreen would be
  10. Paul, 29, carpenter. Engaged to Amy (assasingirl on here). Always been into hunting, ferreting, airguns, shooting etc. Studied as a keeper but never got the work although gave me a chance to get a lot of shooting in and train my lab Dudley, now dead. Got a lurcher and a JRT/whippet both just starting properly this season and we are trying to teach ourselves and them as i know no one else into lurchers! Lived in africa a while but came back so Amy can go to uni but just been back to check the house is ok
  11. Same here, travelled zim, moz, botswana and lived in Zanzibar for a year building a house (available to rent ) Africa is a different world, addictive and infuriating at the same time!

When you put it like that it dosent seem too bad. Sure i'll be laughing about it sometime soon, already starting to seethe funny side of the apple thing Just back from the vets, they are keeping her in over night coz they have to put her out to see if theres anything still in there. Gonna be £300 but they reckon she will be good as new once its healed. The missus just made cheese on toast too so things are looking up!

    Why me?

Came back from holiday last week (which cost a fortune) having got engaged (which also cost a fortune) all ready to buckle down to work and sort some money out. On the way to work my van threw its cambelt, now needs a new engine, got towed back, borrowed Amy's car to get half a day in, leaving site ran over a piece of pipe and blew out tire, found her spare is not even for her car, next day borrowed a mates car and on the way to work an apple fell down and smashed the windscreen! Then this morning Tyla impales her leg on a stick gonna cost £50 plus the treatment coz its a sunday! So
  15. Thanks guys, i will check out the other forum. i like the idea of the hive one but wouldnt know where to get an old one from! Keep those ideas coming
  16. No it does'nt, i was planning to carry a small drogue to slow the drifts down a bit if needs be. See if you can find some retro fit ones, they dont half make a difference in the wind. A drogue would work though but i've never tried it, might drag you a bit as the canoes are so light Let us know how it goes, good luck!
  17. No probs, i wouldnt call mine experienced, both young 'uns really but getting there, the ferrets know what they are doing though! Happy to come and show you how i do it, send me a PM when and where
  18. My little sister just got married and wants 4 hens plus a house to go in her tiny garden as her present. Does anyone have a design? im a chippy so building it shouldnt be a problem if i had a decent plan to work off? its got to be small, self contained and fox and cat proof. Thanks
  19. Lamping with dog (well two young 'uns just starting) and gun, air rifle, shotty every now and again and a fair bit of ferreting. My hunting buddy seems to have retired due to a combination of lazyness, drink and a difficult missus so anyone wanting a genuine hunting buddy every now and again drop me a PM. i dont want to come across as desperate coz im not, quite happy going on my own or with the missus when she gets a chance but its always good to have the option! Also any newbies wanting to have a day out with the ferts more than welcome - theres not enough of us down here so im always
  20. Have a bump on me Someone give the guy a day out, i'd be happy to but Sussex is a bit far i assume! Good luck!
  21. i have a similar canoe, not fished from it here but i have in africa - great fun! Word of warning though, the wind pushes them around like crazy and its easy to exhaust yourself so be careful! Does yours have skegs fitted?
  22. its his gun and its up to him. if he wants to paint it in orange and pink polka dots hes got every right to. Got nowt to do with anyone else, he asked how to do it not for your approval
  23. Near Haywards Heath, West Sussex. Where you from?
  24. its easy to forget how lucky you are! My missus has her own dog and gun, loves hunting - especially lamping i dont reckon i could cope with an anti, what would she do will the rabb`its the dogs bring her on walks?
  25. Works fine mate, although i think i wouldnt worry about too many coats. Do try and get matt varnish otherwise its too shiny. Did mine years ago and its worn pretty well, i keep meaning to redo it but never get round to it
