Purple spray is available in any farmers store, they also do it without the dye but with the same active ingredient so dogs not always covered in purple spots.

Most farm buildings are made fromsteel girder frames covered in roof sheets. if you shoot the birds sitting in the web of the RSJ then there is no way of damaging the roof. You have to pick your shots but it beats getting kicked off your permission for causing damage. Alternatively bait them somewhere safe to shoot, i use the muck heap and bait it with corn a few days in advance of shooting. Hope this helps, good luck

i had a similar day. Couldnt get on the land til ten due to real life interfering then got collared by the land owner and asked to do a particularly awkward bury on two sides of a high stock fence and covered in scrub. Started getting wet as i netted up but got it done and entered Bracket and Polar. Within 30 seconds three rabbits bolted, sounds good but the first one got the net tangled on the fence and escaped and the other two were right behind it and went literally between my legs as i tried to reset the net They were closely followed by the two ferrets who went under the fence and

Lurcher to lurcher breeding, i was told saluki grey lab bull grey but im not sure if thats right. Basically a bitsa!

Could be they're too big, try resizing them? Sounds like you had a good night

We went for a quick shine last night, it was Tyla's first night out solo since she speared her leg. She took 4 out of 8 runs, ran them all well and took two of them out of the hedge after i thought she had lost them. i was really pleased with that as up til now she has been unwilling to dive into cover but hopefully now she knows she can do it she will keep at it. She also retrieved two perfectly and the other two partially! Overall a good night and another step in the right direction

So slyfox, did you buy it and how does it shoot?
-
Would be well worth keeping an eye on how they all turn out and maybe repeating the breeding? There has been a lot of interest in Parker down this way, its a shame its so far otherwise i reckon you would be getting some requests

Yes mate, at that price the condition dont matter that much as you could have it totally servied and still have a cheap gun. Things to look out for are; check barrel isnt twisted or bent check screws in stock arent worn, if they are check power as it may have been tweaked check barrel crown is not scored or chipped if the bolt is still sticking after greasing then they are still available to buy, i think, from falcon about 12 quid last time i bought one. And, seriously, if you dont want it then please let me know because i do!

Good going mate, i still havent seen the pics from our trip. its good to see we are not the only maniacs sleeping out in the frost to get closer to the hunting! if you ever need a couple of lurchers and a few ferrets to add into the mix on another trip just let me know, i f*cking love it!!!

Bite his hand off!!! if you dont want it i will have it and pay the postage!

i think it may be a Titan, the fore runner of falcon, with a homemade/customised stock. imo they are great rifles, i shoot a .20 falcon that is at least 10 years old and i love it! The falcon and titan actions arew almost identical. i would snap it up if i were you! This is my one

Well done mate. We took her brother out for the first time last week, he only got a couple of runs as wasnt a lot about but he did really well. He missed the last one by inches - slipped on leaves just as he went for the strike We were very pleased though overall. He has had a couple in the day working in tandem with Tyla too and a couple of pheasants Any idea how the others are coming on?

Nice one ian, i was gutted last night wanted to e mail but couldnt without the site Anyway, i think you do a good job and a hard one. Cheers

Sorry Deker, i wasnt having a pop. i just think that it must be a bit off putting for people if they think its only possible to hunt with a multishot pcp, i mean, it wasnt all that long ago when we were all shooting spring guns and still taking decent bags. Obviously its better to buy the best you can afford (unless must gun makers stop making guns in your chosen calibre ) but fieldcraft and accuracy are far more important than a quick second shot and he will only get that with practice and getting out there?

If you are going HUNTING! Period, you cannot carry a knife in your possession without a good reason. End of. The cuffs would be straight on my friend. Saturday night, you come out the pub, your wearing the same bottoms you had on when out hunting, the knife still in there. Your walking home at midnight, police turn up, explain to you that there have been car breaks in the area, so the grounds are set for a legal stop and search, officer find's the knife in your pocket! "ok sir i've been hunting earlier" The copper will laugh and nick you for (A) offensive weapon ( having a sharp point

That cant be right?!?! i am a chippy and my van is full of potential offensive weapons, am i honestly expected to remove them whenever im not in the van? They have to be joking
-
Just be careful, in my ignorance i ran mine too early and she took a knock. She took ages to recover and has only just started to come good 8 months later. its bloody hard but you have to be patient and wait til they're ready.

i take it thats a russian pcp? Any idea who the maunfacturer is, or any other details?

We did the same friday night. The dog had a couple before we even got the tents up, weather was terrible for lamping though but we had a good mornings ferreting the next day. i dont know where you were, but it was f*cking freezing in kent! Thick frost over everything! Nothing beats it imo, good food, good company and the dog and ferrets all working well, we even had the longnet catching for the first time. There should be some pics when zebedee321 aka John gets round to putting a topic up
-
i disagree mate, i have had a variety of multishots but the gun i always ended up taking out is my trusty out FN19 hence i sold the rest and just stick to that one. i think its all about what you are confident in, it may also be to do with the calibre as my falcon is .20 and the others were in .22 There is absolutely nothing wrong with hunting with a single shot imo

Tyla's first night back after injury and Pups first run!
Tyla replied to Tyla's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Oh well, i was pleased anyway
