I've had a dog with lungworm and vets haven't got a clue about it ,dog that's coughing they automatically say kennel cough , my advice to any dog owner is to worm with milbamax and drontal and stay clear of the spot on rubbish the vets are payed to palm customers off with as it don't work . We all have are own ways but I wouldn't use anything other than milbamax on my lot Atb

Lovely looking pup

Do these treat lungworm and prevent it like milbamax? It's OK being cheap but do they work .
-
I use drontal and milbamax, vet always trys to give advocate spot ons for lung worm but it don't work, Panacur also works on lung worm but milbamax will always be my choice and I don't keep collie types so no problems , Give monkey a pm Atb

The old timers new where every roost was and new the land like back of the hand and didn't need nothing but a catty and field craft It's not hard to take a few kaneys of roost, Old timers would think you was a divvy paying 1500 for something your eyes can do , Of course they good bit of kit but not for me ,I stick to field craft

My 3 Old white brindle dog 14 now and he been a good honest grafter and give anything a go but sadly to old for anything other than a good walk and getting spoilt like old hero's should . Small black bitch as one fault ,she's not 23 tts , she brings a lot to the team and she's a joy to watch work ,she put a lot of gun dogs to shame . Ruff coated bitch doing well and making a good mooching dog

Good to see youngsters out ,have some great memories of being out with me grandad ferreting -
Me unculs used bedlington lurchers back in the 80s when fox pelts making good coin and he said they started of with first xs but collie or deerhound lurchers was added as well . My first x give anything a go and if she grabs hold its not getting away but she's no out and out fox dog .
-
grey would be my choice in any first x but that's my opinion ,not saying the whippet don't bring anything to the table as it does but a small lurcher no good to me ,

Patients!! I find most pups will come along with recall etc then at certain age think stuff you I'm to busy having fun but this is the time you got to keep at it and make comin back to you more enjoyable than what she's doing ,I always find kneeling down brings a pup in quicker than when I'm standing or if I run backwards calling pup normally works and I pocket full of favourite treats helps ? My bedy grey bitch didn't need no recall training she just did it naturally and only time she's stubborn is when she no something about or she's behind it . Put a few pics of pup up ,
-
It's sad to say that the bedy whippet is getting ruined for ££££ notes by most that breed the type today as most litters are up at over a grand a pup and these people have no interest in working a juckel as its all about coin . If I was you I'd get a bedy lurcher from workers and I dont think you go wrong . I'm sure If you got the coin you could have a pup by end of the week on fb but would it be the genuine article "first x and working parents " I dout it but you may get lucky " Saying that sometimes you come across a well bred litter from honest folk ,you just have to sieve t

We need vets but God they can be robbing cnuts ,me whippet x sitting by me feet had to go see a specialist and it cost 170 just to talk him and then 1800 for ct scan ,camrea down is throat, and xrays and bloods and meds then we had to take him back 2 weeks later and another bill for 400 .
-
Yes your right bud ,I've seen vet put quater washing powder tablet down dogs throat to make it vomit a full box of roses chocolates up and it worked . Lot of people panic and go straight vets and get a large Bill for something they could do at home for nothing .
-
Glad things turned out OK dc
-
Same as bud ,no coney about so definitely wouldn't be paying 250 for a knocker box ,I normally go ferreting couple times week but just nothing about so I'm knocking ferreting on the head after this season ,I'll keep me old Jill and me favourite hob but rest will be gifted to new homes, I keep some nets and me mk3 just in case things change but I don't see it happening any time soon, just stick to early morning mooch and lamping . Atb
-
I think the first mk1 was £20 or £40 when they first came out ,I've got a feeling it was £,20 though. I get that was long time ago but £200 for mk1 is robbery and a step back from mk3 They no folk going to pay these prices as a locator essential bit of kit ,not that ever stop me and many others going out without out one and I've never lost a ferret to ground ,had some long waits but that's way it was and yes they make life easier but they also change the way some folk ferret especially new comers to the sport , Mooch

Does he make his own nets and other kit ? I bet he got others knitting nets and making ferret boxes and just sells them on nothing wrong with that of course as that's business and nets I've had from him have been quality so no complaints.
-
My local gun shop had 3 sets in and he said he'd had them nearly 2 Yr sitting on shelf and in space of a week he sold the lot .
-
At least someone as started to make them ,bit expensive but so was mk3 .
