Has anyone seen a homebred dog better a big name coursing dog?
Moocher71 replied to Jobi's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Names come from those who want a name . plenty of good hare jooks around owned by folk who would rather stay quiet about it ,my family always had good pot fillers and if any one asked if the dog was a good one the answer was always "couldn't catch a cold "I sell her to ya if you won't " and no more was said . -
Got one here that's always trying to get bees and wasps ,I keep thinking your going to regret it one day .
-
Lovely chunky pup ,hope yous both have many good times together . atb with her mate .

I would never take adult dog on again ,don't matter who bred ,worked the juckel it's not for me ,got one here I got at two yr he's 8 now ,think the world of him but he came with problems that wouldn't have been there as a pup . i wouldn't breed a litter of any pups as it's placeing pups in good homes . what would I pay for a pup ? we get a lot out of our juckels and they give so much so are they not worth the money ? times of £50 pups are gone and folk gift to mates to keep a line close for future breeding etc . 200 about right for a lurcher pup same as terrier .i see

That white dog bit like my ol dog mostly whippet with a touch of bedlington and his mam had a bit of sal in her . me and him we done some miles and he put plenty away in his time and punched well above his size , He's next to me now ,no longer works but he'd still break his heart to catch.

I was out for a walk other evening and I see couple lads with a monster of a juckel ,looked like a Akita x Dane or something along them lines , the lad said it was 8 mts old and a Turkish mastif , the size of this things head ,I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of it that's for sure ,

Always going to be those that beleave there way the best ,I need a knock about mooching juckel so bedy grey suits me for what I do, I just like seeing a good lurcher no matter the x do the job it bred for . all the bitching on here puts folk of,and you find its same few people arguing about my dogs better than yours !!!!

Just thout I'd pop the pic up, we all get the juckels that suit us!! all the" my dog better than your dog" does my head in !! evey one to there own ,I have had dogs since I was ten and my family always had pot fillers and my uncul always said the best dog is the one that puts grub on the table and helps feed the family ,don't care what it looks like ,what breed or x as long as it works!!! we should be happy with what we have ,

I was out for a walk other day after work and I noticed the pair of buzzards was out with this yrs young un ,one was jumping up and down and looked to b stamping on something ,I got closer but spooked them so got on with my walk ,on return walk we went through the paddocks were we see the buzzards, my tink found a snake that the buzzards had just dined on,all the jumping and stamping was the bird killing the snake , i never see this befor, but I'm sure they was teaching young how to survive ,

Hi every one my whippet x started to cough couple yrs ago so trip to vets ,they said kennel c and gave meds ,this didn't work but he stopped coughing couple weeks later ,six months down line it comes back and again they talked us into kennel cough treatment and this didn't work, they also gave steroids for ten days and they did nothing but make him fat ! .he as had this for past 2 1/2 yrs on and of ,he's had lung rinse and nothing it came back clear ,we was told specialist who looked and tested the swabs from rinse believed it was maybe kennel cough or a irritant making him cough ,

The Whippet is it the Ultimate Rabbiting Dog?
Moocher71 replied to Allan P's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
In my opinion the whippet is the best pure bred long dog for any kind of rabbiting ,it's only down fall it rips easy , whippet x bedlington would be my choice for a small lurcher under 22 but the whippet don't need any peping up from any breed other than to give coat , got one here 314 whippet bedy ,wish he was young again ,best dog I ever had .took fox ,munty, hare and plenty rabbits and feather . dint think you go wrong with a whippet for knocking rabbits over . atb -
