  2. If you can not find one there get a pup from England , dave platts as sent pups to USA so Ireland wouldn't be a problem ,
  3. Do the lurcher lads ,lasses use cattle dog ,Kelpi x lurchers or mostly staghounds for running bigger stuff the whippet makes a good rabbit dog like you say, they punch well above there size . any pics of some of the types you ran over the yrs . atb

  6. Take your pup around stock ,get them used to being around them and they soon break to live stock . just treat it same as any terrier , put the work in early and keep it on lead if your not wanting to dig , they need work to keep there minds healthy as well as the body . have fun
  7. I still walk home from local places with a coney or brace kaneys , i always get asked for rabbits by folk who live by my mams place ,folk don't like it then f...k them .
  8. She's done you proud in the past and gave her best just like the one at my feet ,we done some miles and he's taken most stuff in his time ,he plods around the garden and walks along the river with the youngster and gets spoilt rotten , they deserve it .
  9. Nice looking juckel that , skycats fella as one I think ,I was offerd a pup from lesta way and parents were doing most stuff, but not for me . i think they is a few different types of Picardys ,different size ,coats , best way ,18mts about right age for seeing work ,many dogs ruined because it was worked befor it chance to grow , atb mooch
  10. Definitely ,they are very sensitive and Easy to ruine by the wrong kind of owner ,but that kind never get best out of anything in life never mind a juckel .
  11. I met a old traveler and he showed me the ways of wires ,and nets , he took finches and made good living out of them . he could take hares with his hand ,only person I see do it , he had a dog for coursing ,ferreting . but when poaching he never took a dog . he was one of the stanleys ,and sadly gone ,
  12. When I was young lad my uncul, grandad would take me ferreting or coursing and never had a problem from any one and never hide the catch , diffrent thing when they out at night ,no one see anything ,
  13. Around same age as mine ,it's easy to offend bedy blooded dogs, but once on side no better best friend to have on a mooch .

  16. Parents look healthy fit juckels ,the pups should make good mooching ,rabbiting dogs in the right hands . good luck with the litter. were did you get the dogs collar with double buckle ,I'm looking for a new collar for my "tink" atvb mooch
  17. used to go kelmarsh every yr with the misses ,she would make a bee line to basc stand and loved shooting clays ,it's only time I trust her with a gun and then I don't stick around lol . we took our 21tts whippet x sal and he come first in couple of races ,and I have never seen such hate from one woman ,she had a van full of lurchers and terriers , she had a dog for every class ,smooth ,ruff ,small and big and you could see they never done a days work ,she and her Croney mates would argue with the judge that there dog is the best , we don't go kelmarsh no more as these kind of do
  18. rabbits look to be clean round my way ,seeing good numbers in places that was baron last yr .im finding them sitting out or in brambles any time of day now it's warming up .young are bolting about ,but as we know this can change if mixy etc hits them . atb
  19. the money breeders have priced the working dog men, women out , I was looking at whippet pups few months ago and price tags of £600 and over ,and it wasn't just showy folk but working dog folk putting stupid price tags on pups and this is were the problem lies"when we have a working kennel ,pups should be priced for the working man and money shouldn't be the main reason for breeding a litter but to keep a line going and to keep the pups in working homes.so they can be tested and do what they bred for!!!!! still they is some good folk who breed to keep a pup for themselves and rest go
