First x bedy grey do all above and more ,I have bitch here just over 22 tts .and this x take to retrieveing what you want very easy in my opinion .the x got great nose ,and plenty anufe in the tank to make good mooching jook . the only thing this x lacks is wind like you get with sal,but if I wanted hare dog I'd have a sal x .im not saying they karnt take hare just not coursing jooks . im thinking about putting a greyhound over tink once she's proved herself . -

I was told that fox cubs in captivity are like pups until 7mts old and they change "call of the wild" . apparently 70% of cubs get realeased again but around 30% can not be released as they become to tame ,and one of these could be trained I suppose . rat catchers used them in 1800s so it can b done ! they belong in the wild -
Iv been watching a pair of buzzards over last few yrs ,they always nest in same tree and it's nice to sit and watch them for a while when out with my lurchers . anyhow they nested as normal and over the weeks the chick grew and the parents started to learn it how to hunt . we was walking along the paddocks when I noticed 3 buzzard on the ground 30ft away ,one was jumping up and down and looked to be stamping feet at something and then the other one started jumping . mu lurchers moved forward and spooked the hawks so we carried on walking ,on way home we walked back the same way

You could be right , Iv made lots mistakes with training over the yrs and that's how we learn or should do .

I only met David couple times yrs ago when my uncul and brother had pups from him and over the yrs iv seen a few good Hancock bred dogs ,and one that was useless . Lots slag him and his breeding but theres also folk working Hancock dogs and very happy with what they have and go back time after time for a pup . its all about putting in what you want out of a jook ,and yes of course they will be failures and other lines that are working parents etc but do you know what's in them ? With Hancock you know what bloods gone into the mix . i was told he was ill and very frail looking ju

Folk pay £1000 or more for kc French bull and stupid money on poodle xs , so paying 400 notes for a well bred lurcher pup is a no brainier compared to the above .

Has anyone seen a homebred dog better a big name coursing dog?
Moocher71 replied to Jobi's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Names come from those who want a name . plenty of good hare jooks around owned by folk who would rather stay quiet about it ,my family always had good pot fillers and if any one asked if the dog was a good one the answer was always "couldn't catch a cold "I sell her to ya if you won't " and no more was said . -
Got one here that's always trying to get bees and wasps ,I keep thinking your going to regret it one day .

Lovely chunky pup ,hope yous both have many good times together . atb with her mate .

I would never take adult dog on again ,don't matter who bred ,worked the juckel it's not for me ,got one here I got at two yr he's 8 now ,think the world of him but he came with problems that wouldn't have been there as a pup . i wouldn't breed a litter of any pups as it's placeing pups in good homes . what would I pay for a pup ? we get a lot out of our juckels and they give so much so are they not worth the money ? times of £50 pups are gone and folk gift to mates to keep a line close for future breeding etc . 200 about right for a lurcher pup same as terrier .i see
