  2. Nice one, about time you got out and had some Ben bunny bashing time ?
  3. That looks like a big animal and the fox is a fair size too ( ? hahaha I do it every time, I crack myself up, Jesus I need to get out this house ?)
  4. A bit later on in the day and the birds have started to move back towards the pen and feed areas, so seeing a few more sets my mind at ease a little, I stumbled across a tree rat chewing the side of one of the wooden feeders, so fed it with the .22, on a day in the autumn with a bit of sun this is a great place to be ?
  5. Looks like you had a good day, let a few bangs off, there’s no better shooting than duck in my opinion ?
  6. You should of seen the other side, the exit took a leg off ? I had to go for a sunny side up picture ?
  7. Where have all my birds gone ? feeding this morning with the shoot captain, the birds have fully spread out now, walking around you wouldn’t think there was any about, but they are still munching their way through a lot of feed
  8. Update on the sightmark wraith now I’m going to take a leaf out of meece’s book here, after playing about with it a bit, less is definitely more, now I’m a big fan of high mag, quality glass scopes but this thing works best on 4x mag and is crystal clear you are more than capable of dropping foxes at 100/120 at this mag and a single red dot Reticle is by far the best this old dog was approximately 90 yards and the image was picture perfect, again it came off next doors shoot i had a go at another one that was easily over 300 yards that I would of been more than confident with t
  9. I hope they sort it out for you as this is the type of thing BASC was set up for, not the nonsense they involve themselves in now ?
  10. That’s not right, .243 is not just a deer round although deer legal, a long time ago when I went for my first centrefire for foxing I was advised by firearms to go for .243 because it’s deer legal, I said I don’t shoot deer, he said you might want to in the future. If the land has been cleared for that calibre telling you you need to get experience is not a good enough reason, they don’t know if you will be going out with someone who will show you what to do and they say you need experience, so could you reapply and say “ my mate took me out and now I have experience “
  11. Cracking that ?, his first outing at real stuff and he’s already a better shot than me and I’ve been doing this for years, the futures bright for this chap ?
  12. Lovely little walk out that and he’s a proper little handsome fella ?
  13. Yeah, I just use the old pellet bags, we’ve always done it this way because it lets me keep an eye on how much feed is being used when others are going up to feed, if it was in dumpys there’s certain people that would get through it in a couple of days
  14. Another ball ache of a job, bagging up feed wheat. My mates old man came out when I was doing it, telling me to go easy, the price has shot up, it’s 200 quid a ton that you know. I said I don’t want milling wheat, to which he replied that’s not milling wheat, you will just have to see when I put my bill in and off he went, laughing, the old bugger ?
  15. That’s a big old boy, nice result ?
  16. That’s spot on that mate, I’ve forwarded it my shoot secretary so he can do his amendments as I can just about manage an email ?
  17. Does anyone have a game shoot Covid risk assessment template that they could send me, I’ve looked at the HSE assessments but they seem to be more work than leisure based cheers stav
  18. Mag, mag, mag and more mag, go big or go home ??? only kidding meece, each to their own ?
  19. That must of been a cracking show of birds to take 71 from a drive ?
  20. Hand feeding this morning, the birds are not in the large group around the farm anymore, that’s not to say there’s not good numbers around the farm but they have definitely moved further out, there was a lot of birds over what’s known as the piggeries and the 40 or so that were in the bottom field were definitely not ours, there was also 30 or so over the valley on the forestry road, again not ours, it goes to show how bad next doors keeper is at his job, we are still 3 weeks away from our first day so with a bit of luck and cold weather they will be in tip-top condition come the first day ?
