  1. That’s cracking numbers for this time of year, nice work ?
  2. Yep, that’s a lot of fox for that size ground, have the save the fox nutters been using the area for releasing there patched up urban’s, you will definitely get a couple of good nights out at them ?
  3. Oh dear, by the look in your eyes that troubled you a bit ?
  4. Jesus, that’s a lot of ginger, how big was the land to hold that many ?
  5. Yeah I think I paid £680 for it, what I have noticed with vortex is the quality of the glass, I’ve used the cheaper models and never seen any misting, what they say it’s capable of seems to be the case, unlike a lot of other scopes ?
  6. I use the 6x24x50 LR Vortex viper on my .243 and the glass is superb, no milky view on high mag and the amount of light it pulls in is amazing, I’ve used swarovski’s that are no better and twice the price, I’ve shot out to over 500 yards at a target with it and it is crystal clear
  7. It was on the afternoon but by the evening it had calmed down
  8. Well it turns out my mate now has 100 problems and things don’t seem to be getting any better for him, so I get the text, can we get out for an hour, my reply, pub or shooting, definitely shooting, good choice ?, so I went and picked the little smiler up and headed to a house with a large front and rear garden where the rabbits are digging up his golf course, I took both the .22 and the browning T bolt .17hmr, first off we had a go with the .22 on the front of the property taking 4 in a little under 30 minutes, heading around the rear I dropped another one on the heli-pad, before giving him th
  9. I wonder if this is going to be put out nationwide as at the minute it’s still the old tick the box way up here, my FAC is due in a couple of months, I’ve already had my letter from firearms with the date for a visit, I don’t have to give a medical report just permission for them to have a look, the only way I need to get a medical report is if I suffer from or have suffered from any of the problems listed or something flags up on my medical record, it all just looks like another case of pass the book and squeeze a bit more cash out of the common man, I can’t imagine any GP wanting to put thei
  10. No mate, though I’d push the boat out last night with a splash of Brut for men but they seemed to like it, shame it doesn’t work on the lady’s in the same way
  11. I have a lotion with deet in it, it stops the biting but doesn’t stop the buggers swarming around me in biblical prepositions ?
  12. So with the temperature around 30 I had the bright idea of a walk around the pheasant shoot, what was I thinking ?, not only was the heat mental but the flies were borderline unbearable, but as I had driven there I thought sod it, I’m here now so set off towards the spud field as this is the only place where you can still see anything, after 20 minutes or so with the caller on rabbit distress I could see movement no more than 35 yards to my left, a minute or so later out popped a cub, so a head shot at that distance was the end of that one, being so close and using the 70 grain .243 this one d
  13. Nice going sausage, he looks to be a chunky chap ?
  14. I love my T bolt .17 but my front door handle has a better feel to it than the trigger on the browning, I would like all the fancy bits on the T bolt but with the trigger from my cz .17, I had a go at adjusting it a while back and it did make it a little lighter but did nothing for the feel
  15. I’m going to have to take it back to the shop, a few people have mentioned that the bolt is on the wrong side now, the lad in the shop told me that all the best lads have them that way round and that’s why it was 200 quid more and gullible me believed him ?
  16. 100% I would of shot them if asked to and being Cubs the others would of hung around after the first shot, to clear them all together P.S. that’s a lovely scene where you are ?
  17. That was taken on curry night mate, you can never be to careful ?
  18. It has the sitting on a high building selecting your target look about it ? like david I’m also a fan of the tikka, I also love a plastic gun, wood for me belongs on a shotgun ?
  19. I would of walked around for it mate, I always like one for the album, I think his little legs were getting tired had the caller on pheasant distress, no real interest in it, he did manage to make the one he shot turn it’s head with a cub call but that might of just been because it was a noise on a quiet evening ether that or it got a whiff of his old spice
  20. He’s almost 5 going on 55 ?
  21. He had about half a dozen before we go him on paper ?
  22. I was asked if I would like a walk out tonight at a place not far from my shoot that I’d been once before, even though it looked like rain I thought sod it, it’s better than coronation street, so off I went, been the guest as always I get to shoot first, after waking for a little under a mile we came to a fire break where at the end of the ride was a clear felled section of forestry, looking through the binoculars I could see a fox working it’s way along the back of the clearing, we headed a little closer but with the wind in the wrong direction my mate said to me we wouldn’t get any closer as
  23. They do seem to have multiplied well this year and are still doing so, have you had any mixy down your way yet, I came across a couple last week all bongie eyed and looking sorry for themselves
  24. I can’t think of another pursuit that instils an understanding and respect for wildlife and the countryside like shooting does and the younger we can get them involved the better in my view, nothing better than free range kids ?
