  1. First day out and a beautiful day it is, it’s definitely a little different sticking to the new rules ?
  2. What’s happened to you ? corrupted by fresh air ? the .308 will kill everything
  3. If you have a few different calibre’s on your ticket you can buy a lot of ammo
  4. That first bit with the fox calling is quality ?
  5. Talking to the lad in the gun shop today, people were panic buying ammo, even though they are doing a click and collect service, so I thought I’d join in ?
  6. I’m financially embarrassed now and can’t even tap the missus because she’s blown all her cash on a pointless new car that I can’t even take shooting
  7. If you are on your own and it’s pest control, I can’t see a problem with you travelling
  8. The mods is the new dpt ive got some bargain bucket hornady 55gn, £17.50 a box, I hope it likes them because the sako gear is about 27 quid a box
  9. So, I picked the .223 up and a bit of ammo to see me through the lockdown ?
  10. I’ve just been speaking to someone who said something very similar, she said Boris will have to commit to the 2nd of December and to go back on the tier system to get the 4 week lockdown passed in the House of Commons
  11. Evidence has never bothered the likes of wild justice any little stick they can beat the shooting industry with, they will use, they raise vast amounts of money purely to challenge the government on wildlife and farming policies, nobody in our corner can match them and sadly money talks in this world and I’m in no doubt there’s more of their madness to come
  12. The problem is pheasant and partridges ( reds ) are still classed as none native and the likes of wild Justice would like nothing more than been able to say you released 10’s of thousands of none native birds into the countryside and did nothing to manage them, as we know the best way to manage them is to shoot them, if they are not managed it just adds more fuel to the wild Justice fire of licensing game shooting or banning it
  13. It comes down to numbers, if people put 30,000 birds down on a commercial shoot and don’t shoot them and stop feeding them because there’s no revenue from shooting, then that’s another 30,000 birds competing for food, you can bet your arse if the shoots don’t take responsibility for the birds they have put down it will be used against them
  14. You’ll have to stock up on pheasants for over Christmas, you had better bring your A game on Wednesday, we are going to shoot the sh*t out of them
  15. On the up side, I’ve got myself a free game larder paid for by the syndicate members, every cloud and all that ??
  16. I think that’s very optimistic to come out of this lockdown on the 2nd and like you say it’s not financially viable to keep feeding them only to have to rifle them in January
  17. I’ve just organised to shoot on Wednesday, it’s upset a few of the members that can’t make it but sod them, I don’t think they will get another opportunity this year to go game shooting
  18. Update from the NGO, it’s all over, I don’t think there will be any game shooting this side of Christmas ?
  19. Hopefully it won’t come to that, there’s talk of trying to get a month long extension to the season, it will be a sad state of affairs if birds have to be culled
  20. Going off what they said, they have a responsibility to feed them, which is ok while money is coming in to pay for it and birds are getting shot, lowering the numbers as the pheasant is a competitor for food to the native wildlife. You tend to get a very low return of birds from the previous season, pheasants are not the smartest of creatures and have a habit of killing them selves or been killed
  21. Most smaller shoots will get nothing, only if you can show it’s a business that pays tax ive just been speaking to mate of mine and they are taking about what to do with the birds if they don’t get to shoot for the rest of the season because they can’t just leave that amount of introduced birds on the land
  22. Bet you are tucked up nice and warm now, it’s wild out there ??
  23. Yeah, what I’ve just been reading I would of thought they will shut it down, but they will let top flight sports carry on and thousands of kids mix at school. I don’t think this limp wristed, half arsed lockdown will do anything for the spread of the virus, if you are going to shut the country down, do it properly
  24. I’ve read that the decision will be given on Wednesday when it’s voted for but at the minute it doesn’t look good for game shooting, pest control and crop protection still look ok as this is an essential service, we’ll wait and see
