I have not used Prometheus for years and never would again unless they improved dramatically, overpriced c**p! Superdomes ....pretty good! Hollowpoint Air Bullets XP2 .22 Ref: XP2 ...Never used so can't comment! AAField ..use them almost exclusively in my 26ft lb Falcon 19...GREAT!! Sometimes Bisley Magnum which are also excellent but would be better at 30ft lb + Results I have achieved..different guns/barrels/actions may well perform differently!!

everything comes to those who wait

Stubby First thing is there are no rules for Open Certificate at first grant. I, and several other people I know got an Open Certificate at FIRST Grant, and I understand Scotland quite often issues Open at first grant. But each and every region can interpret the guidelines and look at individual circumstances in whatever way they like! The best answer is that getting an Open Certificate at first grant these days is getting harder and harder, you will have to put a very strong case.....but never say never!!! Acreage comes into things ..far more than a more sensible option of -
Everyone has their own reason for wanting any gun, a perfectly valid reason is simply as you say...you just fancy one, and why not if you want it, but ..... I just don't see this one.... If you want a 12ft lb gun there are plenty just as good, if not better, and cheaper! If you want an 80ft lb air rifle, with minimal shots per charge and ammo at daft prices you are bonkers, buy a rimfire, much cheaper and much better!! Everything in between 12-80ft lb, there are better and/or cheaper options! It's a lovely looking gun, but my guns are practical tools, they are for using, and I

Not got one, but the web site and instructions say 190, as do many owners ...so that sounds a pretty good idea to me!!

Simmons are not known for this type of reticle as far as I know, but they do sometimes make specials, for example they make a Mil-dot range for Midway USA, Not available in the UK!! So may have been a special or import!!

Sirocco SM11, distributed by Edgar Brothers on the end of my HMR! It is meant to be good on the HMR...I am NOT impressed! Definately no better than a SAK, but very few mods are GOOD for the HMR! You will need to spend some fairly serious money to do much better than a SAK! I am also told by a pal who has just spent £125 on the The Wildcat .17HMR Mod that he thinks it is a total waste of money and NOT as good as the SAK... So I suspect that leaves us all looking for an affordable mod for the HMR without breaking the bank...until that arrives about £35 on a SAK sounds a rea

Good on you guys...they look in fine condition as well!!!

Depends on what you want it for...I have the 5 and 10 shot plastic mags for my .22LR Silhouette and next to never use the 10...just use it as an ammo carrier to load the 5 shot from! The HMR Silhouette I have only has a 5 shot metal available (at the moment I gather)!! The 10 shot is a pain in the back, every time I chuck the gun over my shoulder ...thump...the mag digs in and makes life uncomfortable carrying it around the fields....I'm happy to stick with the 5 shot!!

Nature is a wonderful thing... ....at the right time of year....... A rabbit will disappear to skin and bone in 24 hours (if Charlie doesn't take it completely)! A fox will go in 2-5 days! And a full grown Roe in 6 days, usually leaving nothing but a bit of spine, odd clumps of fur and perhaps the odd hoof!

Wilf, I DON'T PAY and job done, I have the rights, the access, even keys to many gates and I come and go as I please (on all but 2 sites) and I don't dance round anybody!!! So why do you think it essential to pay for the same as I get free, or am paid for??? Has it not occured to you that when money is paid someone will likely pay more than you, you have absolutely no more security paying than I have for free!! I do not charge anyone for days out (YET), I have a select few who get invites to join me, several from this site!!

??? The idea being you get the butt higher and the barrel end goes down...and hopefully you will be able to see the whole rib and it will point where it should!

If your dissability has no effect on any safety issues it will not be a problem...but each case will be looked at individually...I know a guy who powers about on his quadbike with his dog chasing him and blasting away with his shotgun at the same time, and he only has 1 arm!!!

'foxdropper' Deker mate .Since you and i got our tickets ,many moons ago SOME police forces in their wisdom have introduced a period of probation for new applicants.A current fac holer has to baby sit the chap for a specified period and then write ,in length ,to the force in question about the way the applicant veiws safety ,quarry and other meaningful stuff .Just think yourself lucky mate as they can refuse a grant on the word of a mentor . 'woz' the probation thing is to limit the amout of amo etc in circolation...people tend to buy rifles use them once and leave them in the gun sa

What is this 3 or 5 year probationary I see talk of here???

Not a Canadian Goose or Swan then, what about the Heron?????

I suspect you also have an interesting response to the date on the picture as well!!

I can't quite get my head round this one!! I am all for starting them young, my boys certainly did..but it never crossed my mind to get them a gun at the age of 5. They used mine, with my help and under my strict control and supervision until they were "older" You cannot possibly be considering letting a 5 year old use the gun unassisted so what the hell, just let her use yours with your help!! Great to see she is showing an interest!!

I'ts a quality, overengineered German gun which with reasonable care will last a lifetime. About the only drawback has already been well highlighted...weight!!

.240cal!!!! i've shot roe and munjac with a 22. rifle! I make certain assumptions here..Welsh Flag, Newbie, .22 (rimfire...but does it matter) Roe..... ......perhaps best you go away and read up on the law before you post again!!! -
Always a buzz!!!! What sort of range was it?
-
You need to read my reply in relation to the whole thread..I am talking general...there is a lot of confusion/misinformation here! The original question relates to what has been suggested to be a 12L 232bar bottle...most normal air rifle users will find this will last a YEAR or more!
-
Regardless of the fact it "may" be on a 12ft lb gun get a powerful one! The Tracer Atom, logan, etc are just not up to it in my opinion.....especially if you put a red filter on it. For value for money get a Deben Tracer Mini, or Max.... PRO versions (the ones with a dimmer)...shop around and both can be had for about £110!!! http://www.deben.com/index.php#
-
Like I say..... This one seems to be getting a little confusing...and the advertised bottle is 234 bar...that's a new one on me ..they are usually 232bar. A 232bar 12L bottle will be absolutely fine for your gun.....the only proviso I would add is that if you use it an awful lot...and I mean a lot...or you intend to take it FAC consider a 300 bar bottle! Who suggested to any of you owners to get a 207 bar bottle for an air rifle...I suspect they are bottles you picked up cheap/innocently somewhere....a 207 bar bottle is not a very good idea for an air rifle unless you only fire a h

That's interesting - do all game variants of shotguns have auto safety then? No!!..This is an issues that has bounced backwards and forwards with public opinion over the years, there are loads without!!!....I hate auto safe, it is a pain in the arse, if I want the safe on I will put it on!!!

Not too bad with AAA but don't go to FULL choke with SG John!!
