  1. YEP!! That could well be it..then I buy it back and someone else pays more and so it goes...so you recon that will help shooters do you...it will f*** everyone, that's what it will do!! And once again there has been a real blurring/misunderstanding of Game Rights and vermin control shooting throughout this thread...
  2. Only ever got a kit for the shotguns...for the rifles I have just bought, brushes, jags, mops (don't use these much) patches, rods, solvents, oils, etc, etc as required for each calibre!
  3. I'm no expert on birds but this looks very symetrical, my first reaction is not a firearm injury at all..but like I say, I'm no bird expert!!
  4. The reason I have the HMR is for flat fast flight so I stick to the 17g ammo, it also gives me more consistancy than the 20g. The Remington ammo is the worst I have used in 17g, (which is slightly strange as my .22LR CZ rather likes the Remington HP Yellow Jackets) Hornady, Federal and Winchester HMR works for me but I have the 20inch light barrel HMR CZ so who knows!
  5. To simply answer your 2 options...BSA ...no brainer!!!
  6. Support members of this site.... http://www.outshooting.com/70141/info.php?p=9&pno=0 lots of targets here...and a lot more!!!
  7. jamie has pretty much said it...the heavier barrel tends to find it's way onto the range more than the light, but I prefer light even though mine also does a fair bit of target work! No problem with it heating up..more a matter of balance/feel on the range!
  8. The Benelli Super Black Eagle II ..I know very little about it.. The Extrema as already said is a tarted up 391..EXCELLENT... (consider one of these!!) Bottom line is they are all Berettas so you won't go far wrong with either!!
  9. Well...bottom line is I don' know much about birds, but I do know you are mistaken there!!!
  10. The Game licence was abolished in England and Wales last year but not Scotland at that time!! No idea if it has since been repealed in Scotland...I would be interested to know for sure if someone can confirm either way!!!
  11. This sort of topic/subject comes up regularly. Vermin Control and sport seems to blur in many peoples minds....as has been said, there is no season for rabbits and landowners are legally bound to control their numbers. Vermin controllers will shoot rabbit ALL year, sports shooters don't like to go out when it is too cold
  12. That's a baby...you were pulling it down for the close up of the scale ...and .....you should have left if for the dog boys, you are not being fair to them...!!! An excellent example of a professional at work!!!
  13. You are getting over excited.... and I talk of England...... 50 is not a big score and it is not boasting ..it is called Vermin Control and is required by many landowners......and many of them also want to know the numbers so you have to keep score!! You seem to be talking/suggesting sport, you and many others seem to get confused with sport and control! There is a big difference!!! Vermin controllers do not spoil anything for anyone..it is a job required of the countryside, just like ploughing the fields, harvesting, etc!! You simply have to work around it!!! It sounds t
  14. NO..if you were caught and a prosecution followed it would be easy to show the deer was not injured...and even if you decided to break it's leg AFTER you shot it I'm afraid modern technicues would easily prove this! Loss of you FAC/SGC, fine, and or prison term (firearms offence) ..is it really worth it....just do a DSC1 and get the firearm/condition
  15. Lots of different views but the point is different pellets do suit some guns/barrels/actions better than others....Accupells were great in my Daystate but my Falcon hates them! I tend to use AA Field (5.51) almost exclusively these days in my 26ft lb Falcon, AA Hunter are not as good and not as accurate..and at 26ft lb will often go right through a rabbit therefore wasting energy!! Bisley Magnum also performs very well in my Falcon but at 21.4g I think I am a little underpowered, I consider 30ft lb would be the minimum for these!! FTT are a good second to the AA Field for me! T
  16. They are black..screw on the end of the barrel...not over it, about 5 or 6 inches long, distributed by Edgar Brothers....further information from... mail@skg-solutions.co.uk Simon!!! Priced between £30-£40. I would not be bothering with another!
  17. Incorrect, he does not know the last years Deer Act Amendment!
  18. Guys ..what are you all on about... ......changes in the Deer Act last year made it legal to despatch an injured deer with "ANYTHING" suitable...in addition AAA in the 12g shotgun is a legal deer calibre/shot anyway! And there is no law says you have to be within 10 yards! And you do not need humane despatch or a deer condition on your SGC or FAC!!! Go end it's suffering ...ASAP!
  19. Flippin 'ek everyone..chill out... I rather suspect the landowners are quite happy....nuff said!!!
  20. Here's a link: Simmons WTC 6.5-20x50 Mil Dot Reticle I think they're exclusive to MidwayUSA, which would be great if I knew someone in the US, trouble is I don't! i would get the 30/30 one the mildots will inlarge when the mag go's up as they are in the 1st focus plane. They are exclusive to Midway USA...even Midway UK can't import them, all the best, I tried to get one a few months back and Midway USA will not ship to the UK... so you will need to find another way of getting one into the UK!!
  21. I took the decision to leave them alone in my area about 2 years ago. I have loads of Pheasants but very few Partridge, hopefully when they pick up a bit they will be back on the list. But all areas are different so it's down to the individual to make a decision!
  22. So...thinking of getting a new air rifle... Whats best .22 or .177???
