CZ Silhouette HMR 20" Barrel!! One of the new ones with Synthetic stock! Triggers are often an issue with the CZ, but my .22LR Silhouette trigger is great...but when I bought the HMR Silhouette it was terrible, bought the Brooks trigger kit direct...cost me £8.32 delivered.. big improvement! Nothing else not to like about the gun...offers excellent VFM and shoots well! Zeroed for 100 yards because I need a rifle that pushes the range out a bit from the .22LR, the HMR is capable of 3 touching shots at 100 yards and can easily drop a rabbit at 150 yards (as long as it's not too

In essence you should be looking down the whole rib. Which bit of the rib can't you see??? If you can only see the end of the barrel you are shooting too high!

AAA is 5.2mm with 35 pellets per ounce! It is the smallest Deer legal cartridge, and is available from any decent RFD!! SG is 8.4mm with just 8 pellets per ounce, and runs to just short of 2000ft lb per cartridge!!! F*****g useless for almost anything except blowing doors off hinges or dropping a deer 6 foot in front of you, and cutting someone in half point blank!

I do not, will not and never have paid for any land....I currently have 27 sites and on all but 2 or 3 I have exclusive rights and come and go whenever I like!!! I get paid in kind by ALL of them and paid money for several!! I have deer rights on every piece of land that has deer (except 2 that don't want the deer shot at all) and I pay NOTHING!!! My opinion of those who pay to shoot vermin is unprintable...they will screw everyone up! It will snowball, and in time prices will go up and everyone will have to pay silly figures for a couple of acres of rabbits!!!!! Pay for Game Rights

The strict maths of your situation says it will take 14 hours to fully charge a completely flat battery...but life isn't that simple, depends on the quality of the charger, and your 12v battery will deliver more than 12v when it is new (commonly 13.5-14v), and hold a charge better when it is new (actually after a few charge/discharge cycles). It is suggested you continue to charge for approx 20% longer ..after the green light goes out....but do not go overboard!! A very unscientific way to check when the battery it is well charged, is when the charger itself begins to cool down...not p

WHY???? Is it more powerful? Does it hit harder? Is the ammo cheaper? Is the ammo easier to get? Is there more choice of ammo? Will the barrel last longer? Do you have a problem with the .223? After you have answered NO to all the above perhaps you may want to suggest he gets rid of the .17 and buys a .223!!

You are moving up and up..so why didn't you get the 410?? .......not being funny chap but you sort of ask.... do I buy a Fiesta or Peugeot 206...get the advice and go to buy... then come back with a Top end Mondeo and ask if you did the right thing??? Bit difficult to answer really!!! Perhaps you should have bought a Jaguar!!

This one seems to be getting a little confusing...and the advertised bottle is 234 bar...that's a new one on me ..they are usually 232bar. A 232bar 12L bottle will be absolutely fine for your gun.....the only proviso I would add is that if you use it an awful lot...and I mean a lot...or you intend to take it FAC consider a 300 bar bottle!

Odds are a Badger or Fox!

I've never heard of these or seen these until the pics above...it does bear more than a passing similarity to 2 other PCP's I can think of..if it is as good as either it seems a goodun!! So who are the manufacturers that I have never heard of???
-
Honest opinion on both or either if you have one....I have an opportunity opening up and I may be in a position to get one of the above...are you pleased with yours..would you buy another..is it worth the money!!! Honesty only required from genuine owners please! Cheers

Deer hunting Licence UK help needed
Deker replied to firepower's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
No I don't I presume though that if the land is passed then all will be well ?? If you're new to stalking, then I strongly recommend that you go out with someone who has done a good amount themselves. Deer, as with all quarry, deserve a high degree of respect, obviously. I'm sure you have the best intentions, but there's a lot more to stalking than bunny bashing or paper punching. I'd go along with that...a deer calibre and a deer condition but not an Open Certificate, slightly uncommon, so perhaps a bit of assistance would be useful...still a little unusual!! -
They can help you if the intended quarry are lamp shy. Change colours and get another bite of the cherry. That's the idea but never been impressed with any over the years, and some (particularly the red) dramatically reduce the light beam/range!! These days I use nothing but normal beams, no filters, but always use a dimmer control to adjust for individual situations!!

A number of the Simmons have a locking ring which needs to be slackened off before you can adjust the eye relief..can't see on this model though!
-
Any and everything possible....prone, kneeling, standing, bipods, sticks, bars on the truck, bonnets, bumpers, walls, fences, gates, trees, your buddies shoulder, etc etc, anything that will make the shot possible...and if there isn't anything you don't take the shot!

thanks i will let him know tomorrow. Another good bit of advice for your friend....get him to join THL!!!

what about pointed pellets? any beginner (like me) would asume amiediatly that pointys give better penatration Penetration is useful but you lack accuracy with these which is even more important. In addition, it is also about imparting all the energy into the quarry (as someone else has said) rats, small birds, whatever...if you go right through you waste energy!! To keep it simple, domed will be the answer! what about long range (30 yrds) rabbit and pigeon shooting (let me geuss, domed?) oh and thanks for all the tips p.s wich is better 22. or 177., ive got a 2
