    I do a fair few foxes at all distances but a LOT close, domestic work tends to keep me quite busy and any thoughts of centrefire are a joke. Sometimes .22lr, sometimes .22WMR but the HMR gets most use, never had a problem, more than capable! Tools for the job, simple as!

    I've actually just bought 550 of the old 40g off a pal, work fine, although Winchesters not my favourite. Never actually used the 42g stuff!

    Some of you may know I am Secretary of a Home Office registered Rifle Club at Bisley. Due to a combination of unfortunate circumstances we seem to have availability for 3 new members. We are a small (our Constitution limits the total membership number) friendly sociable club, just the same, one of our members ended up shooting for Team GB and another is training with them. We generally shoot 9-10 times a year at Bisley, but as we are all tarts we skip the winter months. Distances most commonly are 200, 300 and 600 yards with occasional shoots at 100 and 1000 yards.     I can still lay my hands on 2 x 500 bricks of Hornady 17g V-Max for £130 each (=£13 for 50) if anyone is interested, the rest are gone!

    Had one when I was a boy, .177, it was my Dads originally, not sure if it was just mine or they were all low, but mine was nowhere near 12ft lb. I could be wrong but I think the only thing that made it a major was the adjustable rear sight!! Very sweet to use, light and easy, sold mine to a dealer about 14 years ago.

    Ok, help me out, my lads dog, who comes out with us a bit, and goes mad after them, wont eat them at all until its cooked/boiled. He eats plenty of other raw meat but refuses the rabbits until cooked, then can't get enough of them!?!?! What's that all about????

    All ammo has gone up a lot recently, but I am surprised just how high some of the rimfire is heading!!! If anyone is after Hornady HMR 17g V-Max, brand new sealed boxes, I have access to some, available in 500 bricks only, at £130. I'm personally fully stocked up to my limit, but can get these and pass on this offer until they are all gone! PM if interested please!!!

    Help me out, specifically the rifle above, are they metric these days or are they still imperial? Put another way, is the barrel still .22 or is it machined to 5.5mm? Unless I missed it somewhere I couldn't find that info on BSA website! Cheers
