  1. Yes it is for some, and I think its 13.5 as well (could be wrong), thats why I have the 12-25, that works prone as well, but in honesty the 13.5-27 may work better for sitting (for some people) so either or both depending on your build!
  2. There are others on the market ........ I have seen the results from some. I run 2 x Harris 9-13 and 12-25 BOTH Swivel. Be advised to get the swivel! They have had Years of use so far and both still going strong. Frankly, cheaper doesn't add up whichever way you look at it, even if you don't get on with this shooting malarkey and want to sell up, used Harris trade quickly and easily at good money.
  3. They are different! Yes, there are areas of overlap, just as there is with a HMR and WMR, WMR and Hornet, Hornet and a ...etc. The .22lr excels with subs, accuracy and low noise, but range is relatively limited, HV is unpredictable in many ways in a .22lr. A HMR will take the head off a Canada at 100 yards and bunnies at 150yards, try that with a .22lr. They are noisier and VERY hard to moderate, and ammo costs more than .22lr. I could go on for hours about the differences and merits of each, but it isn't a matter of comparing the rifles to see which is "best" , it is a matte
  4. I currently run a lot of different rifles from 12ft lb to .308 and shotguns. My FAC Air is a Falcon FN19 Skeleton, it runs between 25-26ft lb, depends on the time of year (yes, there is a little fluctuation from freezing to very hot) it has run on AA Field, assorted slightly lighter and Bisley Magnum. For me and my requirements it runs a treat on AA Fields 5.51 at 16g. Tell me it doesn't........... ATB!
  5. Is this a wind up...... .... 25ft lb is too hot for 14g and too low for 16+g pellets! And the advantage of FAC is to flatten the trajectory? Sorry typo error, it should read fac air. My experience using fac air comes from over 25yrs using hw80's, early daystate midas, eliminators in .20/.22 and laterly fac rapids in .177 and .22 cal. The 14gn .22 pellets tend to go inaccurate much past 20 ftlb. You may find a barrel that will run them at 25/30ftlb straight, but in my experiences it'll be very lucky. So we are left with three main contenders in .22. These being barrcudas at 21gn an
  6. 500 x .22WMR CCI 40g Maxi-Mag HP V. Still factory sealed and fresh in boxed 500 brick. Surplus to requirements Only £100 Face to Face and right paperwork obviously, somewhere near or able to travel to Reading.

  8. its ok, as long as your write across it, this is a copy You dont need to because when you copy it the word Fraud appears right across it Keep up, this was trialled by several forces, and whilst there are no doubt still many FAC's out there this works on, many regions have now dropped this paper and nothing shows anymore on photocopies!.
  9. There is no legal requirement to inform your region if you simply relocate, sell or indeed add any cabinet in your current address. If your region has imposed some condition on you that you must tell them ask why, or simply ask them to point you in the direction of any part of any of the Firearms Acts that requires this? Security is YOUR responsibility! You are obliged to advise your region if you move house and they will then decide if they wish to inspect your cabinet or not, quite commonly not.
  10. This is 20lb. It went down with the CZ .22lr shown and Magtech 40g HP subs at 100 yards. Don't expect me to say a .22lr is an everyday 100 yard fox tool, I don't consider it is. You have to evaluate situation, circumstances, equipment, ammo, experience and confidence! If I was going out after foxes specifically at this distance or longer I would always take a more powerful tool. So, what is the maximum range of rimfire on foxes, it's what you can achieve, but it isn't a competition, don't start chucking .22lr at foxes in the next county!
  11. What do you want anyone here to say?? You are new to shooting foxes but have killed them stone dead at yards with a rimfire! But your local shop says no more than 25-30 yards. So, if you have killed them stone dead at yards why are you listening to your local shop? And why are you asking here if you know you can kill them stone dead at yards?
  12. Last couple at this price, ONLY £27 delivered to UK mainland. This is new packaged product. Excellent sling, fully adjustable 23"-49", wide shoulder pad and non slip insert, QR Swivels AND Studs included. RRP £40 Plus P&P. Any questions feel free to ask. Cheers Deker
  13. They are good, snare collar doesn't usually last more than 2 or 3 outings so consider making your own. You need a level of skill to know where/how to place and bait, and of course they are NOT species specific, so care is required in there specific location. Approved for use in the UK since about 2009 I think, and cost about £100-125. I like them, but they are only ever one tool in the many ways to deal with a fox!
  14. Your FAC has actually expired? Where are your guns now? Talk to your region.
  15. We have heard a lot about this new 17 Winchester but we are unlikely to see any in this country until much later this year and more likely 2014. Charts are all very well but performance in the field will be much more revealing, and MUCH of its success, or otherwise, will be down to pricing, ammo in particular!
  16. If length is an issue then over barrel mods can help as well as barrel chops. It is amazing how awkward a rifle/mod can be from a vehicle, even very short barrels, so if the vehicle is a big part of shooting then a shorter barrel will help from that point of view.
  17. If you decided on an American then you want an American. There will be no inherent difference in accuracy of the American or Lux. Certainly a difference in aesthetics and feel! The Lux in particular is quite long, about 23-24 inch I seem to remember, for general day to day work 18-19" is probably fine for most cf. BUT .... what has led you to wanting it cut to 18"?
  18. Upgrade...what setup are you using at the moment? What Gun do you want to mount it on or do you want hand held? What distance do you want to see/shoot? What quarry?
  19. The .223 is not aggressive in any way and any mounts that can take a springer air rifle will be fine. The problem you have is not that your mounts aren't up to the job, but the Tikka rail is wider so they will not fit!
  20. I am not impressed with Optilock, although everyone else will say how wonderful they are. I have/do use Optilock, Warne and Sportsmatch on my Tikkas, they all work. There is no need to spend double the money for Optilock. I also understand Leupold and Burris offer mounts for Tikka. Don't know MAKuick as mentioned in post above.
  21. Well look at others .... Like...... Sportsmatch Warne I also understand that Leupold and Burris do Tikka/Sako mounts!
  22. Here it is on my .243, and it has been a fine scope. Due to the sad demise of another shooter I have got another scope, and so the JSR is now available. I look after all my kit and this is all but perfect condition. I have the box and packing and instructions etc. 6-24x50 green or red IR Mil dot, numerous settings, 1" tube, sunshade. Originally £89.95p Yours for £SOLD delivered to UK mainland! Any questions please ask. Cheers Deker
  23. You will tend to find approx distances many people will tend to zero each calibre, but running with the pack is seldom the answer where precision is required! You zero at the distance you find most of your quarry or the target, it isn't rocket science. If someone else has a 300 yard zero on their .223 because that works for them, why should you zero at 300 yards if all you do is shoot foxes with it 50 yards away? It is well known that I am no fan of this 1" high at 100 yards s**t, that is only ever a guesstimate of True Zero and what is the point? The usual response is because it
