  1. Flippen ek, this is getting a bit wild, I run the NS200, on rimfires and Centrefires with longer barrels and bigger mods on than most of you guys and don't have any issue with Flare. I am not suggesting the NS is perfect, but this issue is well known on lamping kits and there are load of options to try IF you are having a problem. So lets not point it all at the NS!
  2. I do use a brush, but I'm not arguing with any of that, sound advice, especially CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN until it is CLEAN, not until it is "nearly" clean, it may take a few minutes longer but it will save you a lot of ammo.
  3. richmcgin Posted 28 January 2012 - 10:19 AM Paulus you have a good point and well put, but as mr Hooks has ask i feel i must reply, we all know what supersonic is and we know that hypersonic is the next on the scale with the inbetween being covered my Mach, Transonic is the effect of diff air speeds at diff parts of an object between supersonic and hypersonic speeds, to give you more detail than that i would have to look it up and its not that important to me!!!!. .................................
  4. That wasn't your post then on 28 Jan 2012, its still here in the History, try calling me a liar again and I'll kick your arse, but then I'd get done for child abuse, where are all your Emails etc saying I'm wrong! PM's are PM's, grow up, but just the same I can't help thinking you have shot yourself in the foot, but then again you couldn't have, you don't have a rifle do you! I'm done with you, just enjoy your own little fantasies Walter Mitty!
  5. You, dear boy, (which school do you actually go to, they have a lot to answer for), suggested Transonic Effect occurred between Hypersonic and supersonic speeds (ammo designer for the Special Forces hey! pass me the Ray Gun) and would not accept serious maths and physics put to you by several members of this forum, don't come crawling back to this thread with more BS trying to shaft someone else for your inadequacies. NO manufacturer has told you anything against what I and many others have said, you even said in a PM to me Federal agreed with me. You live in a fantasy world of your ow
  6. Start bowing! You live in a complete fantasy world, there is not a single ammo manufacturer in the world that argues with transonic effect, just you and your Hyper velocity BS! Ask Remington who makes their .22lr ammo, which factory they make it in, and who makes the most, don't forget to publish their reply. And as for only a couple of factories that can produce .22lr, keep bowing even lower! Of course you are not concerned anymore, so why keep on with the pathetic charade...you wrote...............# 32 Posted Yesterday, 11:01 AM RWS, Winnies go best through my 452, C
  7. Locating next to the main gun safe isn't a problem. The only "possible" problem could be with the safe itself, you may think it's up to the job, the FEO may think differently, although cheap B&Q, Aldi, Screwfix, etc safes have received approval in the past!
  8. In this part of the world it is not that uncommon to see the young at the end of Jan, its the end of March now, always plenty about by now, perhaps late March is early in some areas but it isn't here! PS. There will not be a healthy population round here by the end of the summer, however fast they breed!
  9. BS, go away and do some research. As a designer of Hybrid ammo for the Special Forces you surprise me! CCI does NOT make ALL .22lr ammo for every tom dick and harry, they make .17 HMR for a number of different firms....... "CCI, Federal, Winchester, Remington and Hornady HMR all loaded here at CCI in Lewiston, Idaho with a V-max bullet are identical, with the exception of tip color. Manufactured on the same equip, to the same ballistic specs, using the same components other than color of the tip of the bullets. Obviously the shellcase 'head stamp' and packaging would be different

  11. Really!? "well they make Federal, Hornady,Remi and of coarse CCi, in the 17hmr and they make Federal, Remi, CCi, 22 and the 22wmr hornady" So...CCI make ALL....... Federal, Remi .22 ammo and Hornady .22WMR? So, do CCI make the WMR for Federal and Remington as well? Feel free to qualify your response or actually answer my question!
  12. You said .22, so did I, HMR isn't in this conversation! "Which "brands" and "type" of .22lr (or even .22WMR) ammo does CCI make then for other companies?"
  13. To turn this on it's head, what are you shooting, at what distances, what has led you to a 22-250? ...and to quote SS.......... "is that on your ticket ready to be bought or is it something you want when you apply"
  14. Which "brands" and "type" of .22lr (or even .22WMR) ammo does CCI make then for other companies?
  15. I tend to do fine in the fields with a rifle, its the smaller jobs, garden centres etc that a cage may work in for me, so I only need small numbers of traps, I have them! Generally use the same size traps for these to......
  16. Ok, so it's place the traps as appropriate, is there any real suggestion we needs loads, what's wrong with a couple? Carrot and apple are suggested baits, did I miss any other? Cover the cage floor....... and don't bother to cover the cage floor? I hear this all the time about FOX live traps, there is the school that suggests you will never catch a fox if you don't cover the floor as they don't like the mesh, then there is what happens to me, and I catch them fine straight on the wire floor! I remember I did use cauliflower stalk bait on one Garden Centre site and got 1 rabbit, s
  17. Terry will be well pleased of the advert! Sweet round the .222 but always nice to get a group like that!
  18. that's a silly bet to make, the cage trap would not be my own choice of controlling rabbits but I know a couple of lads who put a lot of time into them,i know one field where they caught over a hundred in two days , try and match that with your pop gun HOW? I really would like some pointers here, my rabbit cage trapping has been far from successful!
  19. ....... Oh, the good old days, and then creosote the fence.......and off for the Hovis afterwards...... Oh course you know there is only one way to stop a mole...Blow his ******* head off
  20. Not my first choice method. I have hardly caught any in Cage traps, probably less than a handful ever! So, it's either not easy or I'm doing it wrong, so I'll watch this with interest!
  21. Moderators, as rifles and scopes etc etc get personal, everyone has an opinion, and it will usually come down to what they have! I run P8 COMPACTS (smaller and lighter but moderation is just as good, particularly on a .223) on all my centrefires. The P8 also offers a big selection of calibre specific baffle sets for maximum performance, Predator 8 Calibre Inserts Now Available - .17, 22, 243, 25, 27, 30 , 338, 375, 44. Others made to order. It is easy to strip and clean, all parts are available as spares, should you want to change calibre/rifle it's easy, you don't need to
  22. Have you had your mitts on a Atlas bipod??Glad i wasted my money on one Atlas are expensive in relation to Harris, there are plenty of even BETTER and MUCH more expensive bipods available for target (or whatever use you want to make of them)! Nothing wrong with Atlas except the price, and personally I see no advantage over a Harris with them, yeah, they are well made, but my Harris have had some use over the years and still work fine. Frankly, it is amazing the feats of engineering excellencee you see down the range, but some are totally impractical for the field! Get what you l
  23. i adjusted the trigger down on mine pal have not checked weight yet my do tomorrow when i go to zero new scope. i can not put the rear mount back any further as the is no more slots on the weaver rail i have another one piece rail but its 5mm taller and i will only be able to move mount back one more slot. so if its doing the job tamo i will leave as is. I thought that and didn't follow the response, you can't centralise the rear mount more on the rail, the front appears to be mounted centrally? Yeah, if it works then fine, but as said, mounts as far apart as sensible is us
  24. As has already been said, what suits one person/barrel will not necessarily work for another. I have long been a fan of Magtech 40g HP Subs, they work a treat in both my current .22lr rifles, and my lads, VERY accurate and a massive HP which peels back and expands brilliantly, but the price has gone through the roof in about the last 4 years from £3.50 x 100 to around £11 x 100. You will find many who will not give this ammo house room as it doesn't work for them, it works brilliantly for me! I now tend to use Winchester (big HP), and RWS if I can't get them, I have tried loads over
