  1. The 527 is a Centerfire, it isn't a rimfire 452/453 or 455!
  2. This comes round and round, you will never "NEED" anything more than a CZ can provide for field work. Some simply want more, fine, but don't start thinking you are getting a more accurate rifle or one that will last twice as long if you pay two or three times the price of a CZ, you wont.
  3. If you have a slot that says .17 HMR then that isn't a slot for a .17 Winchester Super Magnum Rimfire. Nobody knows 100% yet as the Winchester hasn't arrived, but I would suggest you need a variation, as above though, talk to your region!
  4. "Personally" I'm not a fan of bore snakes on rifles, their origins lie in quickly cleaning and removing corrosive powder residues in shotguns in the field, then do the job properly when you get home. This doesn't transfer to rifles in the same way!
  5. My Centrefire mods get cleaned every time the rifle is shot, but CF is a little different and they are P8 Mods which are easy to strip and clean. My .22lr mods get Cleaned infrequently, but my WMR and HMR mods get cleaned more often, but not every time. Let me qualify that a little, EVERY time I clean the guns the mods comes off and gets a good bash around to get rid of any lose crud, when everything that is likely to fall out has, job done, proper clean is done as required! Each to their own, some may never clean, others may clean every outing. That works for me, my guns shoot st
  6. It looks to me like you are after an argument. If you want a debate PM me, what the **** does that add to this thread!
  7. Ha Ha, yeah, being a dealer makes it work, that's your answer then, everyone apply to be a dealer and the problem will disappear! Edit, Yeah I re-read it and maybe I didn't take in some of what you qualified , I still struggle with 99%, short barrels, big scopes, NS set back etc, I can't believe 99% have that issue upfront. I did also qualify my answers with possible reasons and solutions!
  8. no one was slagging anyone and the point was about flare off the mod if you put it on a full bore with a T8 you, can see jack shit, and said to si it was not a dig at him or davey so why come in like this . This is what is wrong with forums like this if some one says somthing you come in like a pack of dogs I'm not getting into an argument with anyone here but staggering generalisations and exaggeration are going on. That one above, it may on yours but it will depend on the type and length of barrel, scope type/tube, mounts, where you fix the NS on the scope, etc etc. I run the N
  9. I have knocked Roe Down at 229 yards with my .223 and fox further, so 200 yards is straightforward and easier with a 22-250. I see the 22-250 as a strange calibre, largely because of the Law, but there is debate anyway. It is a very capable calibre, and easily capable of dealing with Roe, and bigger deer, but there you have the Law. I see it as a top end Fox calibre but not as capable as a .243 with a 55g or 58g V-Max, which personally I would rate as the best long range fox setup available, it is not only a pussycat to shoot but laser like and devastating on arrival. Of course th
  10. Deker what are you doing different from everyone else then mate? with the standard NS mount and a large mod you will in 99% of set ups get IR flare. IR flare from a moderator is common in most systems, commercial or home built its one of those things we need to get around. SCRAMBLE No specific measures, but................... Sunshade perhaps, standard on all my scopes, solved historical problems with lamping kits and no problems with NS. There are many options to try and resolve any issue anyone may have with flare on a NS, which, as far as I can see are the same as the optio
  11. Flippen ek, this is getting a bit wild, I run the NS200, on rimfires and Centrefires with longer barrels and bigger mods on than most of you guys and don't have any issue with Flare. I am not suggesting the NS is perfect, but this issue is well known on lamping kits and there are load of options to try IF you are having a problem. So lets not point it all at the NS!
  12. I do use a brush, but I'm not arguing with any of that, sound advice, especially CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN until it is CLEAN, not until it is "nearly" clean, it may take a few minutes longer but it will save you a lot of ammo.
  13. richmcgin Posted 28 January 2012 - 10:19 AM Paulus you have a good point and well put, but as mr Hooks has ask i feel i must reply, we all know what supersonic is and we know that hypersonic is the next on the scale with the inbetween being covered my Mach, Transonic is the effect of diff air speeds at diff parts of an object between supersonic and hypersonic speeds, to give you more detail than that i would have to look it up and its not that important to me!!!!. .................................
  14. That wasn't your post then on 28 Jan 2012, its still here in the History, try calling me a liar again and I'll kick your arse, but then I'd get done for child abuse, where are all your Emails etc saying I'm wrong! PM's are PM's, grow up, but just the same I can't help thinking you have shot yourself in the foot, but then again you couldn't have, you don't have a rifle do you! I'm done with you, just enjoy your own little fantasies Walter Mitty!
  15. You, dear boy, (which school do you actually go to, they have a lot to answer for), suggested Transonic Effect occurred between Hypersonic and supersonic speeds (ammo designer for the Special Forces hey! pass me the Ray Gun) and would not accept serious maths and physics put to you by several members of this forum, don't come crawling back to this thread with more BS trying to shaft someone else for your inadequacies. NO manufacturer has told you anything against what I and many others have said, you even said in a PM to me Federal agreed with me. You live in a fantasy world of your ow
  16. Start bowing! You live in a complete fantasy world, there is not a single ammo manufacturer in the world that argues with transonic effect, just you and your Hyper velocity BS! Ask Remington who makes their .22lr ammo, which factory they make it in, and who makes the most, don't forget to publish their reply. And as for only a couple of factories that can produce .22lr, keep bowing even lower! Of course you are not concerned anymore, so why keep on with the pathetic charade...you wrote...............# 32 Posted Yesterday, 11:01 AM RWS, Winnies go best through my 452, C
  17. Locating next to the main gun safe isn't a problem. The only "possible" problem could be with the safe itself, you may think it's up to the job, the FEO may think differently, although cheap B&Q, Aldi, Screwfix, etc safes have received approval in the past!
  18. In this part of the world it is not that uncommon to see the young at the end of Jan, its the end of March now, always plenty about by now, perhaps late March is early in some areas but it isn't here! PS. There will not be a healthy population round here by the end of the summer, however fast they breed!
  19. BS, go away and do some research. As a designer of Hybrid ammo for the Special Forces you surprise me! CCI does NOT make ALL .22lr ammo for every tom dick and harry, they make .17 HMR for a number of different firms....... "CCI, Federal, Winchester, Remington and Hornady HMR all loaded here at CCI in Lewiston, Idaho with a V-max bullet are identical, with the exception of tip color. Manufactured on the same equip, to the same ballistic specs, using the same components other than color of the tip of the bullets. Obviously the shellcase 'head stamp' and packaging would be different

  21. Really!? "well they make Federal, Hornady,Remi and of coarse CCi, in the 17hmr and they make Federal, Remi, CCi, 22 and the 22wmr hornady" So...CCI make ALL....... Federal, Remi .22 ammo and Hornady .22WMR? So, do CCI make the WMR for Federal and Remington as well? Feel free to qualify your response or actually answer my question!
  22. You said .22, so did I, HMR isn't in this conversation! "Which "brands" and "type" of .22lr (or even .22WMR) ammo does CCI make then for other companies?"
  23. To turn this on it's head, what are you shooting, at what distances, what has led you to a 22-250? ...and to quote SS.......... "is that on your ticket ready to be bought or is it something you want when you apply"
  24. Which "brands" and "type" of .22lr (or even .22WMR) ammo does CCI make then for other companies?
