Prices between about £1,600-8,000 for Starlight NV products if my memory serves me correctly. I have NEVER said that NiteSite is THE BEST in the market, and it is not suitable for some, but it does offer an excellent product at a very competitive price, which, without doubt is much better in price and performance than many other NV products, and has brought NV to many who simply couldn't justify it historically. It is £599 remember! Sure, build something yourself if you want, it's a free country (ok perhaps it's not a free country but that is a subject for another thread) !! Or buy

I'm simply not following you, you have an interesting turn of phrase which throughout has been based on assumption, we live in a free country, go and buy what you like, make what you like, sell what you like for whatever you want, EVERYTHING you have said could be levelled at MANY MANY products INCLUDING ALL of the MUCH more expensive other night Vision products on the market... Pulsar G2+ £1500, Cobra Tempest £8,500 and plenty in between, so why is your crusade against NiteSite with a product at £599. These products attract MUCH higher dealer margins £ and % than NiteSite. Anyone

You crack on, its a FREE CAPITALIST country and you have every opportunity to go and make and sell your own product. ...and I have to say you obviously don't know the ccompetition, NiteSite has already taken legal action against one business for infringing copyright and another is out there as we speak with yet another copy NiteSite. That's business!

I'm struggling to understand why NiteSite seems to be singled out for this tirade of profiteering and poor quality. They have come up with a new approach to night vision, it is probably the most versatile on the market, is easy to setup, can work VERY well out to 200 yards or more, can be used day and night on virtually any scope and is very much at the lower price of Night vision No, it isn't perfect, but it has brought nitevision into the realms of many who cannot afford the £2-3-4-5000+ of other night vision products, frankly a good number of which offer nothing like the versatility

ALL makes are reasonably accurate and most are very accurate, you will of course find the odd dog of a rifle in the used (or new) market place though. It is almost unfair to suggest one manufacturer over the other and most peoples responses will be what they have, or what they aspire to, because that is what suits them, you need something that suits YOU! Basic decisions need to be made, what do you intend to shoot, what is the land like, are you driving or walking, is noise a problem, etc etc? I shoot on a lot of different land at a lot of different quarry at a lot of different dis

bloody hell andy i phoned chambers where i bought the really expensive fcukin washer and specifically asked should i use SILICONE oil and was told definitely no i had to use thin engine oil WTF !!!! so now what should i do mate ? If I said ignore Chambers, who have been doing this for donkeys, sold you the part, and have a bigger selection of air rifle parts than probably anyone in the world, and told you to soak it in dog piss, then who would you believe? i'd definitely leave the dog piss out, but i'd believe andy, as he worked in the gun trade and has a very good reputation on

Is that a JSR 6-24x50 on that? If you are getting that sort of accuracy and repeatability then rifle, pellet, scope and shooter are working fine!

I've just seen that somewhere else, and whilst I am in no way trying to defend the dog boys, those are pets who simply wanted to play with the fox. That whole episode leaves a LOT of questions!

I have very little knowledge of this rifle, is it .177 or .22 or what? AA field used to come in 3 x .22 sizes, 5.5, 5.51 and 5.52, same equivalent in .177 I think. The 5.5 have gone now, look at the bottom of the tin, it will tell you what size you have. If you are talking about a true .22 you may want to consider Eley Wasp Blue!

Nothing wrong with these, I had one of the VX3 4.5-14x40 Long Range 2 or 3 years back, moved it on very quickly, it was not the world changing experience I was hoping for, hopefully the 50mm will be better. Just the same I consider them well overpriced!

My region make a stack of mistakes, including at one time issuing me with an AUTOMATIC shotgun (not Semi). The fact is I have been dealing with them for more years than I care to remember and I most commonly get my own way, that does need the odd phone call, the odd question and the odd time I have to educate the FEO! Talk to them, have a chat, see what you can do.

".....had some fun and wanted to buy my own just for some targets and tin can sort of stuff, dont see my self shooting rabbits or anything." Both the rifles you listed would be fine for this, virtually every respondant has suggested you will want something better if you start on the bunnies. That is as may be, not everyone does, if you are intending just some targets and tin can sort of stuff, as you say, then you will have fun with these! If you want to move up to shooting live things then I would suggest you want better than some have suggested, so stick with it and get what you

Nope, it is well known that I sell NiteSite, and the reason that I sell them is that they are an excellent product, I spent several months looking at them and researching before I took the product on. Their reliability, backup and service are first class, the product offers exceptional performance and price, and the products sells well. ...and if anyone is actually interested they are made in England. The vast majority of people who have them find them excellent, but as I have already said, nothing is perfect and nothing stands still, the product will evolve, making an already great p

Nothing is perfect, but you have to look at this in the real world, comparing it with things that cost 2x 3x 4x or more expensive is daft, and frankly THEY are well overpriced, so why is it just NiteSite that is attracting pricing attention. It is probably the best, most versatile and cheapest systems on the market and has brought Night Vision into the realms of many more people. Sure you can can build your own night vision, you can build your own kit car, install your own central heating, etc etc, but there are those that chose not to. NiteSite have a first class product, there ar

Of course your employer can take a copy, there is nothing illegal about photocopying a FAC/SGC. Whether you are happy, or what relevance it has to your work is a matter for you and them.

That's as maybe and is potentially a topic for another thread, but it doesn't address ANY of my comments above. I have disected your post, you have made no defence of it or justified any part of it, your response has simply been to call me a ******. You are very welcome to your opinion of me but name calling serves no useful purpose on a forum.

Checking the centre of the windage and elevation turrets is always a good idea prior to mounting any scope, but the primary benefit is for first and true zero on Elevation, windage does not have this problem! It seems like it's timwest bashing season, it's not meant to be, but come on, are you 'avin a larf!

basically in most products today you are paying for the name, such as clothing and things. however with scopes your not. your cheaper scopes are good for air rifles. but when you get upto the bigger calibers such as a .243 there are several requirements. you must have a scope that will resist the recoil and hold zero. Plenty of springers crack just as much as a .243, it is hardly violent! i presume you are wanting a 243 for foxes and deer? so you will need a scope with a decent magnification to take the longer shot. Are you suggesting cheaper scopes don't have magnification if shooting foxes a

well to ensure you maintain them groups and to hit a fox you may need different bullets. my rifle tends to like cci stingers. these are deadly. after you buy new bullets you will need to re zero your rifle. if your after the odd fox for the farmer i would bait the foxes. find a spot that is well camouflaged. i usually use bedroom window but you may have to improvise lol, then set your bait out at a sensible distance, say 50 yards. this way you know that your fox will be in range. i usually use felix cat food. as this brings the foxes in well. the beauty of baiting is that whatever range you de

If the fox was close enough to ensure a clean kill with a shotgun, it is plenty close enought to ensure a clean kill with a .22lr and subs!
