  1. Shotguns are easy, just jointly list them all as others have said. The Police do next to nothing automatically, make sure you advise them of all shotguns held by you and your brother. Oh yeah, check the Cabinet at least twice daily just in case your brother has bought a new one and kept it a secret.   FAC may well be a little trickier, although the process is the same, deal with that IF the situation ever arises!
  2. Whether or not screw tension is one of the issues remains to be seen but sooner or later those screws are going to have to be removed. They may be slightly corroded or just over tightened but you really do need to get them out. Make sure the screwdriver is a perfect fit for the screw and try and hold the gun in a vice to leave both hands free to hold the screwdriver. Using the correct size screwdriver for the screw head is half the battle. Unfortunately using penetrating oil to try and help release the thread might stain the wood. If you were to damage the screw, they can be replaced with
  3. Everyone rates the 10-22 CZ is definitely better and so too is the Anschutz out of the box, neither is likely to win any beauty contests but that is not what they are about. You are not going to get anything much out of a Semi, and in truth very few people have a Genuine need for one over a Bolt, but some want one, why not, I have both. As regards accuracy and reliability then this is a good as any, the trigger is useless but in punches tight enough groups and works. £150 Brand new, threaded and open sights ready to go, I just added a bit to mine!
  4. Ha Ha, yeah, I'd actually say the CZ, but as for best looker...you ever heard of Specsavers!
  5. If my memory serves me correctly the front and rear screws in the trigger guard hold the stock to the metal, the other screw just helps hold the trigger guard in place.
  6. 2 screws hold the metal and wood together, that's it. There are no springs that come flying out, look at the parts diagram in the manual, it could hardly be any easier!!
  7. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Thread_Standard Get your slide rule and calipers out, there are a few above. A very common thread for many rifles is 1/2"UNF, but if it was cut it could be anything. Where did you get it from, ask the seller or dealer, they should know!
  8. Badger sett near by. Any time I baited a live catch trap with dog biscuits I'd have a feckin black & white in in the morning. Ha Ha, yeah, and some of the birds like them as well. I often use the biscuits in domestic gardens, the small stuff like the old Pedigree Chum Mixer, works a treat and no mess or smells or dead rabbits bodies for the residents to get upset about. Spread a few around in an area and you have the foxes undivided attention for a few minutes whilst you pick your shot. It's also great to not have to keep checking an area during the evening, you just wai
  9. Mine was not free floating and never would have been had it not been for my intervention. The cutout in the stock at the front of the action was too deep and much of the barrel was contacting wood. I filled the cutout and remounted metalwork. If you take the stock off its easy to see where! Gun is completely free floating now from the action and works a treat. Mine is the American WMR but the action is the same as the HMR! PS, who knows if this is your problem but it will take a screwdriver and 5 mins to find out! EDIT This did not need any sanding or further wood r
  10. Circa 2 weeks for Joe Public, but why don't you just ask them?
  11. Tikka offer a number of rifles, nothing wrong with any of them and we all like/want different things, the Super Varmint is all tricked up and in my opinion doesn't know if it wants to be a target rifle or a field rifle, but is working hard to be a target rifle, I'm sure it will shoot straight. If you are happy with the weight then a fine choice. I have never made any secret of the fact that I don't like heavy rifles for field work, and at circa 2lb heavier than the Lite and 1.5lb heavier than the Hunter, the Super Varmint is heavy, I'm a complete tart and after an hour or two in the fi
  12. The printed version is now available but a revision is aready due for Dec so I'm waitng for that before I order a copy! There are LOTS of changes, but also bear in mind it is a GUIDE!
  13. There is little reason in the majority of cases to take long shots at foxes anyway, they are easily tracked and baited on the whole..... and generally the only foxes that have a chance to get wise are the ones you miss!
  14. Why not, but don't expect a magic formula, the only way to do this and stay accurate is to use the same ammo (pellet?) and physically check it!
  15. Renewing is in effect starting all over again, the form is the same, you will just have to cough up for a grant rather than renewal fee.
  16. For pure stopping power out to about 200yards a V-max is as good as anything and better than a lot, the make is neither here nor there! SP or HP also work well but you will need to place then slightly more precisely. Frankly, at circa 1000-1300ft lb., you can put any .223 ammo you like in the right place and the result will be the same!
  17. Use the magnification that works for you, pretty much all my rifles from 12ft lb to 2,800ft lb are set on 6x. That does me fine up to 200 yards, I don't often shoot further than that (except target) and I can work at those magnifications, I know people who shoot in the field with 12 ft lb and won't use anything but 32x mag. Ammo wise, if you have a .22lr and a HMR may I suggest you find a sub that works in the .22lr and if you want more then use the HMR, 17g V-Max is the standard for HMR!
  18. I can't remember 100%, I sold mine about 5 years ago, it was a 3.5-10x50 WTC from about 1998/1999. I "believe" it simply said Made in the Philippines under the saddle, I'm sure someone will have an original and be able to check!
  19. http://www.djsproducts.com/ Never had any complaints about these, and I sell a few!
  20. PRVI ammo (Serbia)?? My .223, .243 and .308 primarily get fed 55g SP, 90g SP and 150g SP, PRVI. The rifles are all near standard, no shooting enhancements, .223 Tikka simple barrel cut, .243 Tikka out of the box, .308 Remington just barrel cut. They all deliver 1", plenty good enough for me for field work! With "quality ammo/home brews", they go in the same hole, but I have no need for that in the field! I seem to remember Howa used to guarantee something like 1.25" groups (do they still?), I would expect that or better from any rifle! Edit PRVI .223 SP £39.95 here! ht
  21. That's like asking us to chose a wife for you out of a Miss World line up! From my point of view bugger heavy, either vehicle or walking, never found any need for one for field work, but apparently you don't mind! So the answer is simple, get whatever you like, there isn't a CZ rimfire that will let you down! Edit Mod wise, on a .22lr SAK rules for good reason. There is absolutely no gain worth talking about spending any more on a .22lr mod.
  22. I think many people, including me have/had one of these. As a package they are hard to beat, but the fixed parallax at circa 100 yards (yes I know, you can take it apart and fiddle with this) and the 30 30 reticle did me eventually as my eyes went. A cracking scope just the same on probably rimfires rather than centrefires for most. At £40 for the scope/mounts as long as this is an early genuine Philippines scope seems a bargain!
  23. Ha ha, get what you like, there is life out there other than Howa, some cracking Remington deals as well, etc., etc. Also get what you fancy weight wise and stock wise, everyone has the best rifle and many are happy to tell you, I'm sure you have noticed that, personally I'd say there is little between most of them. What is important is you get what you want/need, I have no particular interest in Stainless.....(BOTH my stainless rifles were financial incentives, I didn't go looking for them) and I have no interest in Heavy rifles, complete waste of time, money and energy out in the fie
