  1. Maybe you can't PM yet as you are a new member, try......... Enquiries@gameandvermincontrol.co.uk
  2. Do what you like on the hygiene front, but personally I will never touch a rat without wearing gloves! The traps are as bad or even worse!
  3. PM me for a chat if you want, I have loads of HMR .22lr, .22WMR and .22centrefire, .243 and .308!
  4. I think you have got a little carried away there, first off you do not need a DSC of any sort to sell venison (wild meat) and you don't necessarily need any specific hygiene qualifications either. This will help you, the flow chart on page 8 is very useful if you don't feel like ploughing through the whole thing. http://www.food.gov.uk/sites/default/files/multimedia/pdfs/guidance/wild-game-guide.pdf Edit £4kilo is exceptionally good money, that is about double what I get!
  5. I had not read the Gunmart article when I responded in #28 above, but having now scanned through it I am surprised at how much I can relate to the article/calibre. I have also experienced a massive surface V-Max splash on a fox which merely stunned it (fortunately a quick follow up did the job). Virtually no penetration whatsoever, just pealed the skin back over a 75-100mm very shallow crater, he was most definitely getting up and about to run away. If the calibre works for you and it does your intended job then fine, but as I say, consider it carefully before investing, this is not f
  6. I think it is quite well known that the .204 does indeed need a flagpole of a barrel to get .204 performance, start hacking that down to manageable lengths and the whole point of the .204 has been lost. From my relatively limited experience of them, and their owners issues, they can also be particularly ammo fussy, more so than many calibres. They suit/work for some, but I think it is a calibre to research well, and really define your use, before you put your hand in your pocket.
  7. it does not matter one jot what calibre you use, if the bullet is not quite in the right place the animal will run a bit
  8. Why don't you simply try using the reticle you have at different distances (it's called shooting off, but I knew someone would make something of that), and then you will know how to use it without adjusting the scope, that's why the reticle is like it is, elevation and windage. It will be different on every rifle and for every pellet/bullet type. Far better to learn how to shoot off if you are using a 12ft lb than trying to adjust the turrets for every shot. Keep it simple, forget technicalities, forget ballistic programs, they are never spot on for YOUR rifle anyway, shooting is simple,
  9. Gun fit is so important, and generally that is much harder with a SBS. Personally I hate the things, simply can't get on with them (or perhaps I have just never found the right one), O/U or Semi for me. If you want SBS there will be little choice but to keep looking and trying until you find one that fits and you can afford. ATB!
  10. Do you mean this sort of thing................. All .22lr, mix of 597 and 10/22. Or did you just mean people playing a bit with their guns?
  11. The regions deal with this situation on a regular basis, there is seldom a problem getting a temp certificate, either for her or the executors (sometimes the same).
  12. where do you get these from bud? "Killgerm", they are known as an AF Snappa, that is the outer box, it does not include the break back.. They will tend to only supply the trade, but I have seen these online and there are other variations of course.
  13. Mate, In my opinion those Mini T-Rex are terrible wicked f*****g things. They might be strong enough to kill house mice ok, but on wild mice (especially Apodemus flavicollis) they leave so many of the poor things still alive and squirming around they might as well be called live capture traps. I’ve been using the Snap-e Traps (the ones with the yellow bar). I’ve found they are much cleaner at killing – especially when they’re inside the plastic boxes you can get for them. ATB. To be honest i dont think theres a mouse snap trap around that wont have a few half catches .Will try the re
  14. Loads of people rate the 16, and I'm sure it works for them. I would never suggest 18-19" is the Best, that is just what works best for "me"! Obviously you cut it where you like, but if you go down to 18-19" and find it still too long, you can always cut more off, if you go to 16 and find it too short it's difficult to glue a bit back on!
  15. that's the one ...and we all want different tools for different reasons, personally I don't get this one. For field use it is over the top, and just what usable/useful (possible) increase in accuracy will it provide ......(and what is that malarkey of a muzzle break about), and for target work there are better on the market! Please don't get me wrong, I'm sure it is a very fine bit of kit, all the CZ variants are, but I don't understand what this is trying to be?!
  16. The full length BRNO can be a bit long, especially shooting from a vehicle, (but they are such a sweet and easy to use rifle...and accurate ), my 452 HMR is full length, but I think it's about 22", and that too can be a bit awkward sometimes. Each to their own, my last WMR was 16", actually about 15.5", and personally I just found it too short for my comfort; when I replaced it I had the new one cut to 19", just suits my needs better, 18-19" works for me!
  17. I think you will find that was an evolution during the life of the 452, some have the hole, later ones don't...perhaps they were just using up old BRNO parts!
  18. How about here? http://www.czrifles.co.uk/cz-455-tactical/
  19. Whichever way you look at it no RFD will sell you any firearm without an appropriate slot. Selling him any rifle before you buy does not unfortunately free up a slot, that has to be done by your region. This exact issue has been discussed by various shooing bodies and the police, in the hope that the law could be changed so that RFD CAN do simple 1 for 1 like this themselves, but at the moment the can't!
  20. Fair point, and not a difficult or expensive (in the great scheme of shooting) job! I have not studied them in detail, but some of the guys BRNO bolts seem identical to the 452 bolts!
  21. Just a quick one, is this a CZ rimfire you are talking about, you may well know, but the extractors are different each side, which can lead people to think one (at least) is worn! ATB!
