  1. Crumbs, that doesn't sound good, shame, anyway, still seems a good price on the original thread suit! Ill put up a pick of it when i get it lads when i was looking i came across them for £100+ on some posts mind they were Jack Pike one,s but how do they get away with it charging that much when in all honesty there no different from a £18 one beats me lol atvbmac  To be honest I tend to agree. There are times you can get some cracking deals if you can find a few minutes to hunt around the web, but you still have to be careful.
  2. To be fair I'd not thought about it that way, spot on. No, of course not! So why on earth are people thinking of staying?
  3. You seem to forget the EU wants us IN, that is simply because they want more from us than we want from them. The EU also makes life difficult to trade with the outside world NOW when we are in, it will be a lot easier when we are out. They stifle International trade and will certainly not want to upset us as they want OUR goods and services! Don't let the scare mongers influence you. Remember we stood alone some years ago when Europe was ravaged and did it all ourselves and saved Europe (ok we had a bit of help). We are the second highest contributor to the EU, and we have mor
  4. Always struggled with springers myself Delete. Really wish I could hunt with a small revolver. Single action with adjustable sights, a crisp trigger and no dragging cylinder lock. 6-7" barrel, hogue type grips. :-( Don't start on about pistols, back in the day I had several, then a common as muck Star Semi, and how I so wish I still had that cheap as chips gem!
  5. Queen had their moments in their day, and looking back they were pretty damn good if you ask me. But times have changed, and all this tribute stuff and tree hugging isn't doing whats left of the band any favours. IMHO!
  6. Absolutely. The shot saver will put you in the area, if you were that far off something went wrong or someone didn't know what they were doing. Regardless of that, bore sighting by eye really isn't that difficult, then start real close to your zeroing target and take it from there. Edit As walshie has pointed out, bore sighting by eye on a semi isn't the easiest thing , so just start real close to the zeroing target and adjust as you move further away. No it won't. The shotsaver is designed for resetting the scope after removing from the rifle for a rough zero back

  8. ...anyway, it looks like myxomatosis!
  9. Hopefully it will lead to and end to all war, after Method Statements and Risk Assessments the H&S will deem them too dangerous! Does ISIS have a H&S dept?
  10. I've got a BSA 240 magnum in .177, I think its meant to be 4.5, maybe 5ft lb, not convinced its up there, never used it for hunting at all, bit of garden plinking and odd bits of dispatch! Spring of course, so that makes a bit of difference.
  11. Be careful what ammo you use in the .223. The .223 is loaded to a lower pressure and velocities compared to 5.56mm. Due to its lower pressure, you can safely fire .223 Rem. ammunition in a 5.56mm chambered gun; however, the same cannot be said in reverse. The 5.56x45mm ammo creates a higher pressure As Graham, but not many are marked .223/5.56. I doubt any TRUE .223 will be stamped 5.56 as well, only the other way round, hence more a military/target based rifle generally! No Idea what's happened to the OP here or what he got!
  12. Funny, I was out working for a client yesterday afternoon/eve, using my Magtech 7022, T3 .223 and Beretta 391. It was one of those days I could do no wrong and the client was mega impressed and singing my praises, but that's exactly what I said, I do miss occasionally!
  13. Who knows, but it looks cracking for the money, £18.99 inc delivery. Its all relative, but I'd pay that for a bottle of wine with a meal. Your verdict on arrival would be useful!
  14. Whilst we are at it, cleaning your semi is a pain as well. I had a bit of a session in Oxford yesterday afternoon/eve and used my Magtech 7022 Semi, Tikka 223 and Beretta 391 Semi. They are all in various stages of cleaning as I write this. The P8 is off the .223 and being cleaned as well, and for some daft reason I have decided to strip and clean the SAK on my 7022. Has to be done, and I will be pleased when it is, but its a bit of a trek getting through that lot!
  15. Rimfires, bore sight by eye, probably about 60 yards, then shoot around 10 yards away! On centrefires I would tend to bore sight by eye at -100 yards, the first shot is still unlikely to be more than 10 yards. There is no point in trying to be clever with the first shot, and you can tell an awful lot by a first shot, even that close! Trying to bore sight by eye VERY close, tells you virtually nothing, you need a bit of distance. It is comforting to find that first shot on the paper, and as above, it will tell you an awful lot!

  17. Unfortunately my bottle is just out of test now so thats more money. 20 years is daft, they need a test OFFICIALLY every 5 years for Air rifle (3 for diver). Nowhere round here would touch a bottle 20 years without a test!
  18. http://basc.org.uk/basc-scotland/airguns-in-scotland/airgun-licensing-in-scotland-frequently-asked-questions/ Probably about the best info you can get right now.
  19. If you need one and are size 2XL/3XL (that's all they seem to have) then a good deal!
  20. It was hardly a classic, makes you wonder more than a bit sometimes about matchmaking! I would certainly feel cheated if I'd paid what a lot there did!
  21. There is of course the Simmons WTC 3.5-10x50, available for around £150
  22. No doubt there is some logical thinking behind it, but frankly I'm struggling to know what it is. You can of course simply buy 1 mod and move it around to every rifle you have, but you need a mod slot for each rifle! Doesn't make a lot of sense on the face of it, if you are granted a mod for one, why do you need to apply for all of them?
  23. Legally you can't put a mod on any gun on a FAC unless you have a slot for a mod for the gun. If you do there is no issue buying an Air rifle mod, that you don't need a FAC to buy, and then attaching it to your FAC rifle. At that point the mod becomes subject to FAC rules and you need to advise your region the slot is filled. That's the official route! Strange world of firearms and FAC, you/anyone can walk into a RFD and buy an unproofed SAK, walk into that same RFD and ask for a proofed SAK and you will have to wave your FAC at them. Mods are identical bar a proof stamp. Y
  24. Spend what you like but not many need to push the boat out that far for rimfires. I have never missed or refused a shot because of the scope. The most expensive here lists about £300, the rest around £150 or less.
  25. You said it yourself..... The route I'd like to go down is, initially to apply for a FAC with just a .17HMR. Mainly because I think it will be a good first step and being a small calibre I'm hopeful my local constabulary will appreciate I'm mindful of working my way up to a larger calibre Get as big a cabinet as you can fit/afford, having ample room in it now makes access easier and gun damage less likely, it also gives you room for more guns as you expand!
