They look ok, certainly may have their uses/benefits. The boxes are rather good at shepherding the rat effectively to an accurate kill zone as well, and exposed/externally are essential!

Well, seeing as everyone is at it.................. Bought new by yours truly 40+ years ago, and last time I checked it was 11.4ft lb with Blue Wasp!

Recently I've had problems with Hornady Remington and Winchester. I've had several hangfires (less than half a second) and one squib round (stuck in the barrel) Not good. I checked 300 rounds and 28 were split cases! 10%. I check every box now and discard roughly 10% which is f****** annoying but no problems since starting to check each round. Dsc01241a.jpg Plenty split during firing, so I take it they don't give you a problem! No they don't or I'd have mentioned it. TBH I don't crawl around in the undergrowth looking for spent cartridges so I have no idea how many spl

Zoos have been under immense pressure over the last few years from the public and animal welfare organisations to reduce bars and cages and increase the size of enclosures to make them more animal and visitor friendly. How did the child actually get into the enclosure, I haven't seen that confirmed yet?
-
Indeed, and if a child was off on a school trip being supervised by a teacher and this happened, the parents would be blaming the teacher/school big time! But obviously in this case the parents are blameless and its someone else's fault!

Wars have killed so many over the years but WW1 was generally recognised as the first war of mechanised mass slaughter. Incredibly bravery in the face of almost certain death for so many. Why on earth can't mankind learn to live together peacefully?

Awful lot of experts here on Zoos, animal behaviour and parenting!
-
Lot of questions here, not many answers yet. Sad for the animal!

It is a proven format which the latest lot aren't as good at yet. I was expecting something different, not the same old Top Gear with different presenters.

Ok, they are a bit new to me, but following another thread I've just got some and I'm pretty impressed (so far). I am talking about the selection on the Interweb, the majority seemingly Chinese and costing no money at all really. Does anyone use anything more powerful than 5000LM mounted on their rifle? If so, which, what do you think of it and where did you get it? Open to all makes/types, not just cheap Chinese! Cheers

Ok, the thread topic unit casts a wider beam on full zoom and is brighter on no zoom, it also appears and feels a better made unit. The cheap one is absolutely fine without zoom giving more light than most will ever need, on full zoom it is a much narrower beam which is usable further than the other unit. Frankly, both are suitable for the majority of night work I have in mind for them, but the cheap unit will take you out a bit further, this is counter acted by its narrow beam which may take some accurate lining up in the scope clamp fitting, as it has quite a small/narrow tube. First off thanks to tomburras for making me think about these, and his general help, also to David.evans and bigmac 97kt, for their generosity in supplying me with some very useful bits. Let me set the scene, I already have 2 conventional Lamping kits (Tracer Mini and Max) and night vision, but these torches are a new world to me! The unit this thread is about is top, arrived yesterday, and the unit below which just turned up was simply a chance I took for £1.82p (all in and delivered, also seen them at £1.79p.) Top Unit has 5 modes and bottom 3 modes, both zoom and both are alle

Winchester Subsonic .22Lr 42G Coefficients
Deker replied to Tornado1979's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Never even seen let alone used the 42g. Winchester are raving about them, but then they would wouldn't they. Need to track down a box and give them a try! -
Okay I'll bite. Firstly lets get something clear, I am a safe shooter, which is why I went to the trouble of securing myself exclusive permission to use this disused quarry to zero in. The end in the foreground is an extremely steep pitch and gives over 60ft in height of backstop! I generally shoot from the far end which from the top of the quarry down into it and it gives me up to 270m down into a perfectly safe backstop. I've had it cleared upto .308 by my FEO who asked to see it after a chat we had. Now as I said, I bore sight at 25m onto a prominent stone etc which is easily identif

I don't think so, I rather think its like the Prisoner serving WHOLE LIFE with NO CHANCE of parole, and being told not only does he have to support himself but he has to pay for all the rest of the prison inmates, saying... "I'd rather stay in because I know what its like here, but I'm not sure what its like in the real world outside!" PS It seems you also agreed with the population point I made, its isn't a population thing, it is................. Specific population size has little bearing from what I see, what a countries products/services, ideals, assets, attitudes, etc are

It's here. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/asp/2015/10/contents Great, thanks. There you go whipbed, you won't find more detail than that anywhere!

Is this a LAW or some sort of rule, if it is Law you should be able to look up the Act and read in full!?

What has Norway population size got to do with it, there are plenty of small countries in, and trying to get in that simply cost us more! Norway doesn't have a problem staying out! The point is that we can't confidently use what is happening in countries with small populations like Norway and Switzerland as a gauge for how leaving will impact us when are population is so much larger. Why not? Specific population size has little bearing from what I see, what a countries products/services, ideals, assets, attitudes, etc are is what counts.

What has Norway population size got to do with it, there are plenty of small countries in, and trying to get in that simply cost us more! Norway doesn't have a problem staying out! Our economy is also growing faster than most of Europe (EU), there is a lot of business confidence in the UK, that's why so many want to come here and the EU wants us in, and wants to trade with us!
-
I'm old enough to remember pre EU days, (or whatever it was first called) used to visit France regularly with my parents and a lot of the rest of Europe, no problem at all with travel. As you say, Norway and Switzerland are not members and don't want to be, neither of them have any issues or problems as such and are happier OUT!
