  1. Seen a few Russel x whippets, one of which was particularly good. Got a pat dog here, quite a big lad, good above ground, works cover and get stuck in, has caught some bits you’d be surprised at, my mate also ha a very good hard digging dog that you can also bush with and has a great nose etc. Either of these tested dogs over a whippet would produce some handy little animals around a bush.
  2. I know of one very very good one, but he is old now, did sire a litter this year though.
  3. I’m really keen to use a patterdale dog over a whippet or whippet / grey ...... or grey .....
  4. Oil is the best thing to to with a shit ton of trim.
  5. I think he meant when they get told the dog is all singing all dancing wonder dog and then turns out a wanker, but they already have the pup reared and ready to start. Obviously rearing goes a long way but not nice to have doubts.
  6. Aye maybe, but they were sold as foxing dogs out of dogs that kill foxes, so if they kill foxes then you got what you went to get.
  7. Looks a good litter, it’s got some wheaten, some bull and a bit of saluki in there maybe, if it kills foxes who cares. But Mr Green is right - you do get some litters and dogs at stud etc where they are promoted to the hilt and highly recommended by folk who’ve never even see the dog in the flesh let alone it run etc. Then down the road the wheels come off and then it all comes out and you realise why.
  8. Had a good bit of sport and one very embarrassing moment, lucky the mrs has a sense of humour as it was meant to be a quiet walk ?
  9. I did a gammon the other day smothered in marmalade, was delicious.
  10. Mongrel russel type terrier is best I’ve got ? Her daughter -
  11. Terrier ? Russel type thing, probably bit of other stuff, Lakeland, border, just terrier to terrier. Busher but will drop in on a fox.
  12. Dogs a flyer. Hard, fast ..... and obviously naturally gifted!
  13. It’s a combination as old as time isn’t it, using a terrier to flush and bolt stuff for a runner.
  14. Even if it looks like your nans pet ?
  15. Its horses for courses id say. Mate of mine keeps a mixed team of springers, cockers and terrier for bushing, I grew up around some very good spaniels and I mainly keep terriers now. If I'm honest, for finding and hunting quarry in cover I prefer a terrier, simply because they are small, quick and want to kill what they are after, rather than often working cover on semi auto pilot at times. I also find that a spaniels continuous motion often leads to the runners getting bored and stopping being so in tune with them, usually they can read the terrier well and when it starts to heat up they know
  16. That pup and a transporter would still be a cheap pup in current times!
