  1. That’s my point ? no one said they wanted to ? I certainly didn’t! It’s just the typical response folk trot out when you talk about seeing what a dog is really capable of. I said very very simply. That most people don’t have the opportunity to see what their dog is really capable of. I was just agreeing with joe ?
  2. Good saying that to - “love many, trust few, and always paddle, your own canoe”.
  3. Thing is ...... . I never ever once mentioned anything about anyone being better than anyone else for doing more, or as I said earlier, about pushing a dog to breaking point. Just simply that very few folk have the opportunity or drive to get the most out of their dog, and as much as folk talk about super breeding and conditioning and feeding, it’s usually not those things that cap how much a dog can achieve. And most of the best dogs you see are those that belong to folk who are literally out all of the time.
  4. Too many egos and too many lies. True words!
  5. Very wise words. its nearly always true that the more you do, the fitter and better the dog gets, and then the more you want to do and so it goes, until life gets in the way or dog injury. Got to admit though I get more pleasure these days from a few hours of good mooching with some fun hunts and no catches, then going out and whacking some bits over on the lamp. But needs must and again work gets in the way, I’d love to be out six hours a day just mooching about but like today I started early doors and came back in the dark. The mrs rattled some bits around with the little dogs
  6. My original point had nowt whatsoever to do with pushing dogs to breaking point, that just got thrown in, as the usual response to these kind of things. Joe initially stated that life gets in the way of working dogs, and thats true. My observation was that very few folk manage to get 'the most' out of their dog or see what it really is or isn't capable of, simply because life gets in the way. Working a running dog and taking it on that journey to really give it as much as it can handle (without wrecking it), requires a lot of time, effort and dedication, a drop of luck and probably quite big b
  7. Wasnt arguing with that mate. And there’s some lads who post on here who do a hell of a lot but just don’t talk about it too much!
  8. True. But I think most people’s dogs are quite safe ?
  9. I said ‘get the most out of a dog’ not push it to breaking, let’s be honest how many folk on here have pushed a dog so far it’s broken? When it’s not just been a dog that’s lacking.
  10. This is something I've realised over the last few years, to really get the most out of a dog, to take a good dog to as far as its capable, is pretty much a full time job or obsession. The folk that, are either extremely lucky, or extremely dedicated. And quite rare.
  11. I like it, quite sweet, just a b*****d to skin. But like everything else, we group meat together too much by species. Theres a fair difference in age / sex / time of year / what its been eating etc.
  12. Also depends how much you do. Might have five seasons and five foxes a season, or two seasons and 40 a season.
  13. Used to be a lot better then the same old idiots did the same old shit.
  14. They don’t if you’ve got a bond with them and train them.
  15. No one has said it yes but it’s basically a full moon, so depending on your cloud cover it’s not ideal. Keep trying mate.
  16. Two two pups have been reared this way and this is how the older bitch is fed. Seems to work.
  17. What I was trying to say at the start, is although a raw diet is very good, with a pup I would be wanting to give it almost ad lib access to a good kibble and then top up with raw meat like mince beef, chicken wings, duck necks, oily fish etc. Not necessarily jump straight in with a complicated mixed platter.
  18. Entirely. It’s also an hour or two until I can go lamping.
  19. ? but I’m taller than you mate even when you wear your heels. This is just how it is now, you’ll have to learn to accept it ?
  20. Apparently I’m your boyfriend and something about cranks. You ma bitch x
  21. Fredos mate. I’m still holding out. Stay strong.
