  1. To be fair they are mad little bast**ds.
  2. Some good memories here! Reading what I wrote ten years ago ?
  3. Those dogs seriously punched above their weight. I wish I’d put him over a bigger lurcher and kept a pup.
  4. Yes mate, went up to mikes and had litter pick, I’d just come back to the country after a bit away and three months after hitting the ground on uk soil I was picking up my pup. He’s a great bloke.
  5. One of the best dogs I've had the pleasure of owning came off mike brown. yet another dog i wish i had something off in my kennels!
  6. He's thrown himself in his pups as well, the one I've got was smallest in the litter (picked on purpose) and is a fiery little thing, with an awesome temp. Has taken to work with no effort from me and have been surprised how hard she is considering she's a little softie in the house.
  7. I agree it would make a handy dog I’m sure. But If you hVe a dog tht does what you want then I think it’s wise to keep the type similar, more chance of getting what you want. If you’ve a good strong bull x for example and are happy but wouldn’t mind it a bit faster, you could breed to a grey and it would be faster but you’d lose other things. The answer to me would be to breed to a faster strong type bull x like you’ve already got, hopefully get what you’ve got but throw a touch faster if you’re lucky. If not you’ve got what you had already and we’re happy with and could try again.
  8. Only problem I see is you create a different thing. That dog is a terrier x, leggy terrier hunting dog. Whippet grey over it, becomes a fast little lurcher with a little terrier that’s built for different things maybe, lighter, less tough and gritty maybe. Don’t know if I’m saying it right but I know what I mean. Depends what you’re after though I guess.
  9. The dog would be 22” I think. Thrown pups that size (17”) or bigger to a little pat x spaniel bitch. Deffo worth thinking about, the dog is a machine.
  10. I know a half x whippet Russel which is one of if not the best smaller dogs I’ve seen. I’ve seen it catch just about every quarry, it has the heart of a lion and throws quality pups. Member is on here to.
  11. Very enjoyable watch, thank you. And sharp dog.
  12. Always wondered why there isn’t more of a culture of foxing with stags out there?
  13. I would say there are quite a few Russel’s, pats and x bred terriers out there which would make a great x with a whippet, grey or grew.
  14. I’m sure there’s good ones out there mate, I’ve seen two in the flesh. However I’m just saying, these days I don’t really see the logic in searching for a Beddy to breed a first x as there are many other terriers out there that would bring as much or more to the table in my opinion
  15. I dont know mate, going by what you see around the place, the beddy whippet 1st x is a running dog, much loved by upper middle class country show goers. What I'm saying is - I reckon you would find a lot of other terriers out there who would have much much much more to add in a 1st x breeding, and would bring the feet, coat and drive. Same with working cover. Ive seen a fair number of handy terriers doing various things, and none of them were bedlingtons. If I was after breeding a whippet to a terrier to produce a runner, i couldn't for one minute think why id go and search for a be
  16. I’ve said it loads of times but I cannot for the life of me think why anyone would want a first x Beddy whippet or grey. I understand the lurcher to lurcher bred Beddy type runners but can’t think what you get from a first x that can’t be found better else where other than a fashionable look or commercial opportunity, or just good old breed blindness.
  17. Aye mate sorry ? had a shit day and didn’t read it properly ? still I stand by my point in general.
  18. Why would we want to help anyone out? Here’s a news flash for you, most folk are c**ts, simple as. Been a few decent spots put on here over the years and it’s ruined them straight away. If someone can’t find their own spots or through friends and folk in the real world ....... they ain’t putting enough effort in.
  19. We use one for bullying big mobs of store lambs and she fair shifts them. But a bit of a one trick pony really.
  20. Out of interest ...... why? There’s been a massive surge in folk keeping ACD, Kelpies and Huntaways ..... and apart from a very small number of things (heat tolerance for example, or voice in a hunt away), I can’t see why anyone would bother, other than fashion or curiosity (which is fair enough).
  21. Yep, lost my lurcher bitch last year and gutted I never got a pup from her....... and the best collie Bitch I’ve ever had is sat next to me now, ten year old and never had time off from work to have a litter. You live and you learn!
