  1. Very welcome Phil, I have your other books and will be after the latest one!
  2. What dog will you be looking for Kieth? A whippet I assume??? Great to see you thinking of getting another dog I think it will help you a lot. ??
  3. When’s the new book out Phil?? I see your website at the bottom of your posts says coming soon.....
  4. I am a plumber mate and have fitted various things over the years but the only thing that will actually work is a genuine water softener that you have to add salt to remove the hardness from the water. They cost approx £500 for a half decent one plus fitting and you will then have to buy salt tablets to put in it. The softener needs to be placed on the incoming main before you draw any water off, however it is recommended that you don’t drink the water from the softener due to the high salt levels so wouldn’t help with the kettle but would stop all your other hard water related problems!
  5. Would anyone really be poaching on the lamp at 7.30pm??? There’s some fairly stupid people out there but lamping without permission in view of a road at 7.30pm...could easily just have been a bloke walking his dog after work. Press just want to persecute the field sports enthusiast.
  6. BGD, can you explain to me why you are going to vote for Corbyn please? He is a dangerous extremist who has sympathised with just about every terrorist organisation going and runs a party so anti Semitic that his own MPs are resigning in protest. His economic policy is based on Venezuela where they have gone from a prosperous wealthy country to so poor people are eating there own pets! Socialism in action! Business leaders are terrified of a Corbyn government and the rich will simply leave, no bad thing I here you say but those 1% top earners pay 27% of the income tax revenues in this country
  7. There’s nothing in that article that says it was a poacher, he even says a big torch not a lamp. I am with greyman press hate fieldsports and will paint anyone that does it as a thug and cruel.
  8. Pro or anti brexit, pro Tory or anti Tory, pro labour or anti labour I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone with even the vaguest understanding of politics and knowledge of what each party is trying to achieve could ever bring themselves to vote for a party that would make Jeremy Corbyn prime minister. The man is a terrorist sympathiser, is an anti semitic, wants to tax everyone to death, has no idea how to run an economy (loves to go on about ending austerity but its labours fault there was austerity in the first place!), his policies would bankrupt this country and cause mass unemp
  9. That’s shit mate, sorry for your loss
  10. Unfortunately in the long run the saddest thing is it’s the kids that will suffer the most, not good that they can’t see their own dad and mum slagging him off to them will have a terrible effect on their future relationships as adults. It’s shit for you but sounds like she is jealous of you seeing someone new hopefully it will pass, keep calm and think of your kids mate. Don’t give her any reason to stop them seeing you.
  11. I personally would love to vote brexit party but in reality a vote for brexit party makes it less likely that we will actually get brexit. Brexit party will never ever win the election just disrupt the conservatives chances of getting a majority as they are splitting the leave vote. If the brexit party ends up stopping the conservatives getting a majority and we end up with some horrific coalition of labour, SNP’s and Liberal Democrat’s then brexit will just be cancelled altogether. If Farage and the BP have some vision and sense they will only stand in 50 or so leave voting seats that conserv
  12. I really don’t think £325 is a lot of money for a dog that could give you 12-15 years of graft and companionship. I’d much rather pay £325 for the right dog than £50 for the wrong one. I’ve spent literally thousands of pounds putting my injured dogs back together over the years and done it willingly so would have no problems paying that for the right well breed pup. In case anyone is wondering I have never sold a dog in my life and I am not defending my own pricing policy! I paid £350 15 years ago when that was a serious amount of money to me for a well breed lurcher pup I had waited several y
  13. It’s very awkward for you FF because the owners don’t want to see any rabbits so you have to do what’s required to keep the permission...I am not to far from you as the crow flies and I KNOW RVHD2 has been through as I have been told by several different reliable sources they have seen dead rabbits and rabbits having fits etc that are classic symptoms so my guess is it’s likely to be around your area to unfortunately.
  14. Good to get out but never as fun when you blank. I am finding rabbits hard to come by after feeling quite excited back in the summer at the numbers, I think RVHD2 has been through unfortunately, still a few about but nothing like what I was seeing in the summer and whilst some mixi nothing to explain the drop off in numbers. Was on a normally decent perm today and found someone has been poaching it which doesn’t help! Do you think you’ve hit your perm very hard FF or bit of RVHD2 going through?
  15. Proper chap will give you respect, granted I see that and I try my best to do the old treat others as you want to be treated but that’s asking for trouble in my humble opinion. 10 + vs just you...fair play to you, you’ve bigger balls than I do and I am not embarrassed to admit it ?
  16. Very hard to add to what lads have already said on the thread but you’ve let know one down and I am sure your Ruth would want you to try to enjoy your life. I know it’s not as straightforward as it sounds but try and take up one of the very kind offers you’ve received it will help. Very sorry for your loss and I genuinely hope your health, both physically and mentally, improves very quickly. It probably feels like the wrong time but think about getting another dog maybe an older one, they help so much with the loneliness.
  17. Barnier has said no more extensions, so it’s boris deal or no deal on the 31st of October. That might just get some labour mps voting for a deal
  18. Couldn’t get away with that now a days, you beat a 14 year old kid for a bit of poaching you would end up inside on some kind of register.
  19. Glad you got her back mate...Was she wearing the collar? Or is it still 16ft down!!?
  20. There’s a separate thread where you two can “get it off your chest” ??. Use that one instead and leave the rest of us perverts to pick our favourite item out of the vending machine ??.

  22. I hate to be a pessimist but after two days at 16ft if the ferret is still there she is probably dead, not definitely but probably. If she is stuck behind a rabbit at that depth the chances are she has suffocated air is poor anyway at that level and 2 days stuck is a long time. I dug one out at about 6ft after about a 3/4 hour dig and she was barely alive, 10 minutes in fresh air and she was fine but another 15 minutes and I reckon she was gone. I am not naturally negative but this is how I see it, I really hope you get her back though.
  23. Been in England for a while and it has given the humble rabbit a fairly hard time I am afraid. The only solace I can offer is it doesn’t appear to be as devastating as mixi was when it first struck and (I hope I am not cursing it by saying it) but they seem to be developing some kind of immunity and in Australia after approx 10-15 years the virus has become fairly ineffective to the point the government released a new strain to try to keep the rising population under control. You may have a few tough seasons ahead of you though....for a few years after it became epidemic over here certain area
  24. Biggest estate I go on the keeper isn’t a fan of lurchers but after seeing my dogs he lets me take one dog on a one strike basis (as in if he catches the dog chasing his birds or out of control then dogs are banned) and 5 years later I am still allowed to take one dog! Ask him and see what he says...you’ve got nothing to lose and by the sound of it a fair bit to gain. Good luck.
