    Nipped out for the last hour with this Chinese wonder! Off hand woodie on clover off hand at thirty yards. The unbelievable thing was the rabbit shot next! My little dog retrieved it! Yep, this little three year old dog had not seen a rabbit until last autumn, would not walk to heel, sit or stay and any hope of retrieving was a very distant dream but tonight she brought her first back to me :-). Ended the day on a high note :-). U.

    If you ever want to see the effectiveness of muzzleloaders on deer YouTube it and or visit themuzzleloadingforum. May see me there! Home office aka big brother won't grant a muzzleloading rifle for deer! They can't argue over metallic cartridges the fools!! Fortunately obtaining front loading smoothbore is easy ;-). Metallic cartridges and BP are easy, sometimes not needing and crimping! Avoid smokeless lubes! Make your own from beeswax and olive oil or candlewax and olive oil.     Bullet speed issues only apply in Scotland. Energy level requirement is easily achieved for England. As soft lead is the common expanding material part of an expanding bullet, soft lead bullets used in black powder cartridges or muzzleloaders is by default expanding. By the way, the barrels are octagon! Go for it, I would! U.

    Continued the BP weekend this morning before lunch with granny and granddaughter. Was delighted with a shot at a crow. Stalking in the shade of chestnuts and wild garlic we found s squirrel. The wild garlic was lovely to smell. On the way home and wanting this gun empty spied a long 30yard squirrel watching us. The 5/8oz load fetched it down to Jess's finishing jaws! This cap lock is cleaned and put away. I fancy a session with flint next. U.

    Looks like a fancy model with that timber. The Winchester loads were good. Don't sweat the powder choice. With care top performance can be had with h110, v110, a2400, h4227 and countless others. Take no notice of the na sayers, you got a great rifle and cartridge combo for Britain. U.

    Started tonight. The itch to make smoke is just to much so I will be having a black powder weekend :-). Just a bunny and squirrel tonight. My camera cell was down so had to use my below average phone! The cap lock is a .45 Kentucky type smooth rifle. U.
