  1. Had a call from my liaison officer today, well the head of my firearms unit I believe. Sound feller, know him for years. Anyway he asked if I'm on here! Then informed me that police intelligence are onto me and that he also had a phone call from a police force from the north east! All to do with me shooting a single ball from my muzzleloaders. A candid discussion ensued regarding the law and it's interpretation. That aside it was made clear that irrespective of any loopholes or exemptions by default my licences could be revoked if I continue. That's not a problem, I bag stu
  2. 243 was originally developed for bullets around 80grns. That coupled with modern bullets being longer than they use to be oncr into the 100 GRN or more bullets and the standard twist will struggle. I use to have to really push loads over max listings to just get them under 1"@100. 60-80grn bullets and I usually got good accuracy with my eyes shut! The UK's love affair with 6mm 100grn bullets stems primarily from Scottish deer shooting law. Experts again!
  3. Go with my muzzleloading that would. Maybe a few discreet sequins here and there...
  4. Maybe knitting is just the thing for sharp shooting!
  5. Thems nice ones. 22 or mousing rifle?

  7. If a woman shouts at you for not being the one that dented her car does that make her right?
  8. Don't make the mistake of asking for or please may I..... That will result in a no! The onus is on you to give them a reason as to why you should be granted a licence. So be positive and confident. Not wishy washy etc.
  9. £20 from a farmer! There's a bit more to this story me thinks!
  10. Went out yesterday afternoon to do some target shooting. I was trying to get a .562" shoot good enough from my unsighted .63" bored trade gun flinchlock! Why? Because I have loads of them I cast above a decade ago! Anyway that's still ongoing but loaded with shot we did eventually get a bunny.
  11. On the interview don't phart or pick your nose. Joking aside it's not to bad. It was worse years ago when ordinary plod processed it all. Now we have dedicated teams on it it's much better.
  12. I have huge respect for the 410. From decoyed pigeon and crows, pheasant and woodcock, ducks and geese, rabbits and fox have all been slain from my 410s
  13. It went quite cold too. God shot mate.
  14. Well no, not for clay shooting no....but for hunting.....
  15. Wood for me. £35 quid gets some ammo.
  16. That's a hand bag really isn't it, come on now. It's ok I wear them all the time.
  17. Of course she is. Just to be on the safe side......
  18. It'll be one Stavros shot at most probably.
  19. Not bad for a smoothbore. (The flyers were me experimenting) The one in the black was by drawing a finer bead. Load was. 70grn fine black powder. Thin card. Two wet thin leather wads. .440" ball. Thin card. 50 good strides. After went and got a couple of rabbits but loaded with shot. One at 27 paces and one at 31 paces. 3/4oz of #7&1/2 shot works very well.
  20. I'm being modest for the camera! Believe me, there is nothing left exit side!
  21. All the years I've been in the woods and fields, I never had a Bobby hop out of a bush and ask me what I was doing. I supplied a gamedealer with rabbits harvested one stormy night from my Suzuki with reduced loads and surplus bullets in my 308 ( long gone now). Just under speed of sound they were.
  22. ....shots testing the new load in the 45. Ok, one was close but the other was a forty yard head shot so I was quite pleased. Considering it's a smoothbored! U.
