    Long time ago mate and don't have the data any more Think I used 50grn in it. I used some 308 subs harvest rabbits at night in a gale once! Worked a treat.

    There is actually no proof of "detonation". It is theory. What is known to cause barrel failed is obstruction. Using to little a slowish powder can cause a bullet to be knocked into the rifling then stop for tiniest time as the flame front retards and then restarts only this time the expansion is arrested by the stationary bullet, an obstruction! Fast powders ignite easily and therefore tend to be forgiving on low case capacity. Double dosing is the enemy though! Easily overcome by keeping all uncharged cases upside down in the tray. You only charge an upside down case! Som

    Pain int it.I am long sighted so need longish barrels to save struggling with the front sight. Some days are worse than others, especially when tired. Good stock fit is crucial too. Any fumbling lining them up will never work.

    I was kidding JB lol. I once tested my 30wcf once with opens and a scope on the same day. Not being a tack driver of a carbine the Winchester 94 it did however shoot exactly the same group sizes between the two sights! With opens you must have the target above your opens. The minds ability to line things up in a vertical line does the rest but one can see all the target as opposed to blotting it out! U.

    Well, game bag. Got some rabbits, one for me and some for ferrets. Was quite pleased with the shots. I missed a few but what I did get was one at 150 paces or there about and one at 212 paces, all shot off hand, no rests, sticks or bipods. The first shot of the evening was a vixen cub taken off hand about 60yards while it was walking away. Jess was good to watch tonight. She held onto the fox and half retrieved one of the long shot rabbits too. Hope you liked the photos. U.
