  1. Yep I treated myself to a wee 4x32 cheepie..... I am 51 now! To many years of welding.....
  2. Ayoop airgunners. Not been here for ages sorry. Yesterday after a morning out with the 22 Brno I noticed a safety issue had arisen! When I I clicked the safety off it would discharge! So with that confined to barracks for repairs I thought "how long has it been since you went out with an air rifle"! A long time so I grabbed Dolly, the blow up air gun and had some good fun using jsb Jumbo. Check this 40+yard shot. I missed a couple after but think sticks placed a roll! I then got under some wood pigeons. Those Jumbo really put the thump in w
  3. No no mate. I love hornet, 222, 6.5/55, 270w, 30/30, 308w and 357 but the two 243 rifles I owned soon went and they were very accurate as you described. Several deer fell to them. I guess I just thought it not very efficient bullet to powder charge wise. Just personal choice I guess. U.
  4. I enjoyed all the cartridges I used but for the life of me could not like 243! Nothing wrong with it, I just don't like it and I can't explain why, so don't ask. U.
  5. You won't blow your self up if you follow the powder manufacturers guidelines on powder choice and charge weights for a given cartridge. I loaded for decades and with occasionally pushing boundaries I never blew anything up!
  6. Glad you got out buddy. Subbies going super happens now and then. U.
  7. Good for you mate. Nothing beats a 22 for fun....apart from muzzleloaders that is
  8. ...."the only gay in the village.....
  9. Never heard of them mate. U.
  10. Your right. I don't over fuss chokes. If I had multi options then usually half or less usually got screwed in and stayed there. Sometimes I would open fixed full chokes but fit is way more important for me. I did jug or recess choke a front stuffer once and achieved the desired results.
  11. Jess and me found a squirrel. To be honest I wanted to put the .45 away as a friend has a problem with a fox but it's still loaded with powder. Oh well just got to get out again with it U.
  12. It smelt your brute, or is it old spice you splash on
  13. Not much buddy no. Probably a pint of bear if out. A glass at home with the Mrs in summer after work. Three to four bottles of whisky, brandy or rum a year. U.
  14. Lovely, shame the barrels were welded on wrong way
  15. Good for you buddy. Nice to see some HV ammo used. U.
  16. It would be quite difficult to shoot a WMR barrel out buddy! WMR just about creates substantial barrel harmonics. LR is very mute in the barrel harmonics/vibrations and that is why shoddy inletting has no effect on accuracy or any loose barrel contact with the stock. Use the WMR in the same action and poor inletting and due to the more intense firing the harmonics are disrupted and the bullet leaving the muzzle finds itself leaving the muzzle in a different spot each shot! U.
  17. As soon as I got it bedded better in the stock and free floated the barrel it is no longer ammo fussy and is capable of 1"size groups or there abouts at 100yds with the few types of ammo tried by me.
  18. Jess worked hard yesterday and felt the cold too, she was knackered last night and has hogged the fires all night and day. There was many buck rabbits out so on the way back to the car I let her go and she worked many thus wearing herself out. U.
  19. Won't be long now mate, might be completely different next weekend. U.
  20. Using my .45 again I poured shot in it this time. I took advantage of the bitter easterly and snow. Took this one on the run. U.
  21. Be careful who you hop into bed with.....
  22. No idea mate. I got her kind of to help someone out. She was very timid and frightened. Never seen a rabbit or squirrel but with some help from my now deceased spaniel she has come on a treat, not perfect but ok. Having her put to this time to a whippet dog. U.
  23. She found it by herself while I was plinking with my Brno. She gave voice until I got there and pointed out the tree it was in. It took some finding but when I did it was soon over. In the picture you can see how small Jess is compared to the fallen squirrel. U.
  24. Ouch, not nice. The little kwacker twins were quite reliable. Take care buddy. U.
  25. I prepared a nice rabbit tonight and it was showing its sent glands a treat. These must be completely removed if you don't want the meat spoilt! U.
