With the flu going and going back to work today the only way I got through the day was the thought of visiting the woods on the way home. I just had enough time to get in position for a roosting crow. I hung around a tree with a roosting pheasant in it, a crow flopped in and I hardly could see it. I was worried about disturbing the pheasant I needn't. As the boom stick bellowed flame and smoke and the crow fell dead the pheasant, full of verbal abuse flew to another tree so it all ended well. Back in the game. U.

Absolutely, bring back hunting with archery gear yes please. I miss it so much. So what your saying is that in the countries where bow hunting is practiced they are a backward thinking lot? Interestingly, as for being able to shoot more head of game in a day than I can personally handle I am no longer interested in and it is also interesting how nowadays due to the mass shooting of game capabilities of modern guns the market is saturated with game meat to the point game is being buried! Have been so tempted to go the automatic rout with WMR but have resisted so far. Personally, after years of center fire use the noise from WMR I don't get fussed over. Certain weather conditions can make it seem loud but in all honesty 100yds away it is next to nothing. Crack on lads while you can, old age will slow you down before the antis and if they should have their way, remember my words of wisdom, get a muzzloader! U.

It's very depressing. We are depressed with it too. I have managed to get up and have a bath, shave and make two huge fires in the stoves. The weather is miserable but I am wondering about wrapping up and seeing how far I can stagger across the fields with a boomstick. U.

Just ending my third day in bed. The sneezing fits seem to be lessoning. The hacking dry cough is aweful but not as bad as the sore throat and headache. Every joint aches. Some start to 2018.

Who has this stinking cold bug? Thick catarrh inducing prolapse of the anus. Sneezing fits. I feel like a myxomatosis infected rabbit and if someone shot me now I would thank them !! (Plenty of volunteers in hand). Putting some tea in my whiskey ain't working. Little sleep and my winter holiday is slipping away! Ahhhrrr shooooo....

My 22 is amazing. Had many and the round is so efficient. That is a given. It's not about being better, just different. It makes me appreciate what I get in the bag more instead of being a straight forward formality. Then there is the noise and smoke! To be honest, by the time I have reloaded critters are showing again! Not knocking other ways at all. U.
