Don't apologize and your not a pain. Never clocked it mate. The ball is a .440" and about 127grn. I do know .45 patched ball rifles work around 1700-1800 FPS on full charges of around 60grns of BP. My reduced charge is 30grn and is subsonic, I guess just under 1000. No idea of ft/lbs. To be honest I don't give much credence to it. It is tremendous fun and there is no need to fear the scare stories of horrible fouling and rust. When I got home I simple run some patches in the bore with my home made grease. That will hold the salts in the foul in suspension and I will

I love gorse, why? Because rabbit love it too! I loaded a ball on a light charge in my smooth rifle and stalked the hill side covered in gorse. Rabbits were stamping their feet, I had been busted. Then just 10 yards away was a buck watching me and about to go to ground. I threaded the barrel through a hole in the gorse and lined it all up on his head. When the smoke cleared my rabbit was down. On the way back I did a little plinking only to find it shoots no better on my reduced load for ball with a patch than it does with out a patch! In fact it shoots better with out it! Don't get me

How did you come off your bike? And what was it? -

Pop around, soon have the knee lopped off. -
I run my auto's (when I have one) dry. They really don't move that much to warrant it. My turn bolts are dry except where they run in the receiver. U.

Get the bolt flushed with a solvent and dried. Better still strip it down. Petrol, turps or WD. It will be a build up of bullet lube, gas residue and unhurt particles impeding the firing pin. The cold turns it to tar! U.

Are you mending? Actually, Jess was sulking with me when I got home! -

Took a walk after work for some cz WMR practice and had a good time. First shot was off hand at 109 paces. The bullet went exactly in the middle of the neck! Ironically I missed a rested shot! A 30yarder!! But came right with some 75+yard shots off hand. Six in all with two misses (four in the picture). All head and necks. It was good exercise too for a fat bloke! U.

Yes it did rain and Jess likes to tenderise the woodies too, so yes it was going to be a rustic picture! Thanks.

Jess and I had a small session under roosting woodies. As the bitter easterly turned into mild southern breeze it was nice to be out. We ended up with six woodies, a crow and a squirrel. I won't discuss the shot count but I had a jolly good old banging session (watch it!). Here is soggy Jess on squirrel watch. U.

No mate, not going there, to much hassle in the past on forums. Personally I use a 22 further than 50yds, that's airgun capabilities IMO. 100yds plus was the norm for me when I was shooting alot of rabbit, older eyes and less practice nowadays makes me get closer but if little choice to get closer is available I will still attempt a longish shot for a 22. These young crows were shot at well over 100yds off hand with Winchester lasers a couple of years ago. U.

The fastest 22 ever made but unfortunately not many barrels like them! Did you know the case is actually longer too, quite unique. The only rifle that shot them very well was a Remington 597. I shot a fox or two many years ago with a Krico and they worked well but in all honesty no better than any other hunting round! I won't mention the longest distance I shot a rabbit at with a 22 but it was with the Remington 597 and a stinger! U.

Excellent work and extra good in these conditions. Well done. U.

Running dogs?

Are the woodies losing weight yet?

I was about to ask... It's so cold at work I am sure I am coming down with another cold!

Some are selling llanolin. Anhydrous has water added. One would have to investigate.... U.
-
There are some options on eBay.
-
I use to order it from boots chemists but that was years ago. I still have a tub left.
-
To go out in this bitter weather? I wanted a rabbit but when I got one I was soon off for home ! U.
-
Good idea. Watch you don't use anhydrous lanolin. The water might cause some brass tarnish. Lanolin and olive oil mixed make a good rust preventative for guns and is kind on the skin.
-
I know, but you were to far away.

Yes mate a Hornady. They are ok but I do prefer the CCI plus V to be honest and then I am always in favour of more bullet weight, in other words often torn over the matter. However, the lighter bullets are quite safe. U.

Thanks buddy. Yes a cosmos, fits lovely. I need to open the choke up really! I will borrow an adjustable reamer one day. U.
