  1. To be honest, I like fox's sorted by march. Any pheasant broods in summer have a chance then and boost numbers with proper wild birds. U.
  2. It's good up Scotland, I love it up there. On the top coast line it's crawling with rabbit and it really does not go dark in June! Just goes dull and the birds carry on calling.
  3. Cudos for using a .25. Takes alot of skill. I had alot of fun with my .25 air rifles and there is no doubts when you connect with it. U.
  4. First things first.... Does only zero shift? If so quite normal. Does group size increase slightly with or without mod? Quite normal. Does the group size wildly increase dramatically when the mod is fitted? Not normal, check mod alignment. Another way to check alignment is to stick black tape over the end of the mod and shoot a bullet through it. The hole in the tape will tell alot! U.
  5. Nothing beats a walk in some lovely woodland. It matters little if anything is shot but carrying a gun does make it much more interesting. Finding something to make smoke on is a bonus. A little video of Jess having a run on a fresh cut field. U.
  6. I prefer a more diverse ecology, pheasants are more tasty than any three legged mangy fox! U.
  7. That's been happening on me for years but the land owner has put a automatically locked gate up and they have stopped dropping them on me now. Every two weeks or so I could go and shoot a fox or two relatively easy! U.
  8. Just shows how adaptable they are, he is well, or was! Reminds me of nearly thirty years ago. I was trying to develop a tight shooting buck shot load from a savage 67 (I think). I got a mild load that kept a load of LG tight but every now and then got lousy ignition, think the powder was Unique and I was pushing my luck with it! Anyway one night while poacher watching I sees this fox in my torch and follows it. It went through a gate and as I followed and looked over the gate it was there, less than 25yds! Pop, went the gun! Yep you guessed it, a dud! Three months
  9. Looks a good'n. Nice to hear from you again. U.
  10. She is fine, not much size to her so I don't think there is many pups inside her, unless they are the size of mice! Thanks. U.
  11. The 97 is a good rifle, just to heavy for me! Well done by the way. U.
  12. I can enjoy my airgunning again with a proper airgun, one as ya don't have to blow up! Last time I hunted here was with dolly and it was unremarkable, good but unremarkable. Today though, with a Springer I was grinning on the way back. Two crows, a squirrel and two rabbits. U.
  13. Especially when the realize why he is called longshanx!
  14. Hmmm, factory hornet tends to be mild for the sake of ancient weak actions of long ago. In saying that I remember S&B being quite good! They were 45grn so....
  15. They are good rabbits indeed ?. Is that the mouse gun??
  16. I don't know what you want BB for but in all honesty #4 will get most large stuff down from a 20g like fox and such. U.
  17. Braved the heat and hugged the shadows. I just wanted to shoot the WMR and check zero. I bumped into some crows and took a nice off hand shot at about 70yards. I tested some S&B ammo at 100 yards and they are powerful rounds. Sporting a 40grn bullet with an exposed lead hollow point I expect them to be good fox medicine. I only have the one box though! On a side note in the heat the barrel got very hot but zero did not shift which really pleased me demonstrating a stable barrel and action. U.
  18. Dunno, not timed it mate. A minute I guess. U.
  19. This one has fast ignition and reaches well. It's my favourite muzzleloader. Jess did her thing and treed a squirrel that was soon on the ground! .63" pedersoli Indian trade gun. U.
  20. If I got in that I would be fast a sleep in no time zzzzz. Was it expensive?
  21. You mean you not got one already !
  22. Wearing my extreme summer camo I set off in the sun looking for vermin. First up was a treat, a magpie. Finding a young brood of magpie they were soon irradicated and soon after that Jess marked a tree as holding a squirrel. It made a run for it through the branches and the 410 spoke. Here is Jess with her reward. A speedy departing woodie gave for a fast shooting shot to end the session. U.
