  1. I cut a 410 case down for a powder measure as the full power load and most accurate ball load is a bit much for squirrel. It's about 25grn. Then a lubed felt wad cut from an old hat and then a thin patched .440". It's not the most accurate with that load but ok close up, to be honest shot at these distance is better! The full power ball load is minute of rabbit head to 40+ yards (from a smooth bore)! It's also very good with two balls. U.
  2. It was made 1983. A reproduction of a Kentucky rifle in .45 smooth bore. I was shooting a .440" ball yesterday. It makes a good wing shooter with shot too .
  3. This is what makes me grin the most! Yes I will be out tonight looking for fox's but a charcoal burner session brings the biggest grins ? U.
  4. Thanks y'all. I only have rimfire now and prefer to be under 100yds now ( my eyes are getting tired) for fox's. Would an add on be suitable for that ?
  5. Nice. I believe those smk19 are quite tunable. Have you fettled yours? U.
  6. Thanks friends. I am going to have to ponder this some more ( the lump under the bed is not very big at all) and agree that saving up for night sight and spotter is the way forward. As I can usually stalk with in rimfire range maybe my lamp can still act as a spotter! Thanks again. U.
  7. So if I went with an add on and got a good ir torch am I right in thinking that you hold the rifle under the arm to shoot?
  8. How do you know about the lump under my bed? ?
  9. I have always used a lamp to spot and stalk fox's with. Usually works fine but every now and then I get a clever one. I am wondering if I can use a night vision to stalk with until time to shoot and if so how cheaply can it be done with something that will cover 200yds? Thanks. U.
  10. I once pulled the bullets on a thousand radway green ammo and seated a thousand 55 grn ballistic tips for a keeper friend and he got 1"+ groups at 100 yards and took hundreds of fox's with them over 20 years. U.
  11. Any fox I shoot with a rimfire gets extra rounds free of charge!
  12. Squirrel mad bitch. She gets it when I finish filming! U
  13. Here is and old photo. A Winchester 9422.. U.
  14. Here is one, only 50yds IIRC. Don't remember the details for this one. All my 22's took scores of Charlie's. U.
  15. Shot loads with a 22 and some drop instantly and some go on a death run. Across the ribs and they are dead. They really are not that big. U.
  16. To reload these cases warm them in gas flame for a second. It should make all the difference. Hold the case near the case head and remove from heat as soon as you feel it.
  17. Quite a regular occurrence with reloaded metallic cartridges mate. It happens upon firing with no I'll effects or risks. If you're referring to the hmr then that issue is the case splitting before firing, exposing the contents to unknown influence. U.
  18. Top shots. How heavy are the pellets?
  19. Good photo. Interesting trigger finger! Needs to watch the bolt lug does not catch her finger! U.
  20. Excellent. That's given me some ideas. Thanks.
  21. Well I just don't believe it! The swine turned up at gone 2am. Pokes the rifle out the window and all the scope mounted light does is illuminate the window frame and flares back at me! Fox runs off! 5:45 and the horses pull at it so I starts winching it in from the window. It only gets stuck on next doors fence panels!! So on go the famous PJ's and off I go before they get up. Then when I do get the pigeon it was half eaten! The swine had been back and ate it there with out tugging the line!! I just don't believe it!!!#@£%.....
  22. No way will she have a dead pigeon in bed with her, she ain't to happy me being in bed with her sometimes!!
  23. Never shot a silenced 410 mate. I bet the 2" cartridges would be very quiet through a mod. They are quiet without one!
