    Nightmare that, watch where/when your lasses walk them, Back when I walked mine along the main road you'd get vans tippers stopping trying to sell you something then quizzing you about the dogs, weren't nasty like your two cu#ts but thinking back they could of just belted me and driven off with them

    Indeed,To bring a little normal conversation, I came from the same area and caught a little of the fall out from the Pere' David incident locally for a few years afterwards. In truth I thought it a bit sad taking enclosed deer that were extinct in the wild and almost so in captivity. they were half tame animals that would let you walk up to with yards. I was a little biased having links to the estate keepers, as in animal rather than game keepers, they were struggling to bring some genetic diversity and build numbers so had some of their work undone.     I remember a Saluki bitch in Silsden in the early ,s,pure bred and a mutt that put a massive dent in the hare population in the vicinity,that stood at 32".The vast majority of pures and half crosses ive come across often pan out at about 25" for bitches.It would be of interest to know where a bitch of that size gained its pedigree.Shergar

They were from a few places if I remember correctly, all saluqis to him Kholie is Persian for Gypsy, Sir T was a diplomat he spent the majority of his time in the Middle East in Iran and Iraq. He was gifted a couple of pures which he brought back to UK.     Yes he is a first cross. Dare i say it out of Hancocks yard I do a lot of mooching about with him got a great nose and will go were you tell him most of the time.I enjoy watching him hunt up,quarters a field well.He is 8 year old and will only run things he thinks he got a chance on now. There was a mouse in the back yard that i was watching and let the dogs out about half hour after it had gone and was surprised to see how well he follow the sent were the mouse had been.He is no world beater but has been worth his keep. thanks for reply, seems like most are decent hunters, loved my 1/4 bre
