You've made a really nice job of that I like holding antiques like this and wondering where it's been and who might have used it. It's good to see it brought back to life and working - especially in that last picture

I watched The Machine last night - it's a British film about a dystopian future where we're at war with the Chinese. It's quite a dark film about a researcher who's trying to develop AI/Artificial life/Enhanced humans and, trying to find a cure for his terminally ill daughter. The plot isn't too bad - there's a bit of double crossing in there, the storyline and filming are pretty good. It's worth a watch if you like British cinema and have some time to kill.

That's exactly what I was going to ask I do like tortoises and turtles so, I find these posts and pictures interesting
-
Get some food in you mate
-
If I PayPal some money over, can you send Wilf one of those hats? Was it you that used to put the posts up about catching snapping turtles?
-
Good on you Rez That's a tidy rig to be out hunting with mate
-
You won't be able to hunt in the UK with a crossbow - that's been illegal for a long time. You may be able to pay to join a shotgun syndicate. Most of us speak to land owners to get permission to shoot on their land - it doesn't usually cost anything and, works on trust. It can take a while to get somewhere to hunt .......... they allow us to shoot and we control their pests - fox, rabbit, squirrel, pigeon, corvids, deer.

Happy St George's day all - have a good one ???????

What kind of hunting are you after? Guns, dogs, traps?

Cheers Phil ......... it's been a busy time with changing jobs etc but, I'm always looking in regularly even if i haven't had much to say lately I'm the same - there is something likeable about those little rifles. I'm looking forward to seeing your stock work on this one mate Honestly, I've still got my fingers firmly crossed that you going to post a picture of some one hole groupings from it - I've got every faith in you. ............ I reckon getting the Scarborough tuner involved would be a good move

Keep them fed and keep them busy ........... It used to wind my missus up that our little 'un wouldn't eat all of her dinner but, she would graze all day - just how she is. She's fit and healthy - always on the go with martial arts, dog walking, general messing about so, little and often seems to suit her - we've just altered things slightly to work that way
-
I'm definitely not a fan of these 57s Phil ........... They're a nice rifle to shoulder and, the weight and balance is spot on - unfortunately, for me, that's where it ends. But, I hope you get yours to where you want it mate

Zombieland: Double tap. If you like Woody Harrelson, it's well worth a look - just as funny as the first film.
-
Rambo last blood. It won't win any Oscars but, it stayed true to the rest of the films with its main character and revenge storyline. .......... It was good to see the baddies get a proper kicking, especially with modern filming techniques. If you like that kind of film, it's an easy watch

I've said it before on here - there's a difference between pikeys and gypsies. Gypsies are fine by me - no one wants to live near pikeys. I think a lot of people have never (maybe never knowingly) dealt with gypsies so, they all get tarred with the same brush. It's a shame really.
-
Sorry mate, I sold that a while ago. ............ cracking rifles though - nicer to use than a lot of modern kit.
-
And there you go - you just hit the nail right on the head ......... That's exactly what it was and, that's exactly why no one was fully prepared for it. What I've been saying is that we haven't got any friends in Europe when the chips are down - they robbed our kit the first chance they got.
-
I didn't suggest it was a conspiracy theory - I suggested that your comment that it's been spoken about for years had been gleaned from conspiracy theories. There's a difference. The crystal ball comment relates to the fact that no one could have seen this coming. ........ Despite all the HMG bashing, it's just not feasible to throw a ton of cash into every eventuality. Good money is spent on defence because we're an island nation and, for just 1 example, we still get regular incursions or close passes by Russian planes. Right now, this country is f

Of course they spend money on defence - most countries do. I don't see what's funny about it. Now you're being obtuse - I didn't say that past viruses are science fiction.
-
Government ministers discuss all sorts of scenarios - they know that nuclear war 'could' happen one day. It doesn't mean that not having enough maintained fall out shelters for the entire population is a failure. Also, a few conspiracy theories in science fiction books isn't proof that the current pandemic has 'been spoken about for donkeys years' My original post was about the slags in Europe spotting kit bound for the UK and stealing it. ......... That's them all over
-
They may have done if the crystal ball had been working properly.

So what about shit like this then? ........ https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2020/03/21/french-police-in-bid-to-confiscate-130000-face-masks-bound-for-uk-nhs-doctors-and-nurses-battling-the-coronavirus/ Like I've always said - f**k that lot. They couldn't give a monkey's about us (aside from spite) so, the sentiment should be fully reciprocated ?
