  1. In April we are heading to a large property where will camp until we fill the freezers, usually takes about two weeks, we do this place twice a year, I will take the young ones with us and start them in a couple of no risk, small ones just to get them experience, and yes can not wait Lee
  2. always good to be out, breed all year round here, last couple of years the numbers are exploding again, that new K5 virus does f all.
  3. Brilliant! One of my favourite ways to hunt, not a bad haul. Great photos thz for sharing.
  4. Just a quick update on the kits I kept this year, most of the kits will be a bit bigger than ones I have used in the last few years, This was not my intention , but it adds a bit off choice so I will take it.
  5. Nice pup I'd own it in a flash
  6. I'm not fussed, be good if it does. No good to me if it looks good but can't take the workload, this line in the past is known for their soundness, and strong prey drive, my main priority.
  7. He will keep the white tinge, if he is anything like the blues from her last litter. Time will tell, makes no difference to me, all of her pups usually go ok
  8. A.T.B with her, looks a cracker. 5 weeks and counting till I pick up my pup, only 1/8 deerhound/grey rest is whippet, just a rabbit dog. the big one is his 1/2 sister
  9. I use to dip their feet or the whole ferret ( Not the head) if they had fleas in diluted malawash (Malaban) It works - haven't seen footrot on mine since I was a kid, they don't like it much
  10. Twice a year in April, and October we go to a large property for two weeks that adjoins the Murray River, we spend most of the time ferreting during the mornings and the rest of the time chasing Murray cod, and yellow belly always after the elusive big one’s. couple of pics from last October
  11. Welcome , and enjoy mate .
  12. Mine mainly get raw rabbit and a high fat kibble, pet mince with egg and oil every 10 days and heaps of scraps, the question for me is what dont they eat.
  13. As long as you are having fun watching them try who cares ?
  14. Took Zip out for a bit of a wander yesterday it was a beautiful morning for a stroll, got a few runs, a couple of close ones, but nothing caught, sometimes the ones they miss are the best to watch. I never tire of just spending time out and about with the dogs, just can’t get enough of it. 5 weeks and counting until I pick up the new pup, I’m like a kid waiting for xmas My pitty Kass has been carrying a lower leg sprain for the past week, so she is being rested at the moment, another few days she will be right to go. A.T.B Enjoy life guy’s it’s to short not to.
  15. I have lost dogs to pigs, roo’s, fences and tree's in the past, a fair few people I know have lost dogs to snakes including a couple in the last year, my dogs mother and grandfather were both snake bit , so it does happen, had a couple of close calls this year with dogs running over the top of them, but fortunately they weren’t bitten.
  16. You get a smart one, they f your dog up fast
  17. Lets see ya dog retrieve that b*****d
  18. It’s mainly the amount of food they eat, and they tend to get caught up and wreck your fences from time to time. Their numbers get out of control and the property owners requests tags then they can cull them, they make a mess of your car if you don’t have a bull bar too. we used to use wolfhound and stag cross greyhounds on them back in the day
  19. A.T.B with the pup looks like he could be handy.
  20. Nice Ray, nothing better than being out and about with the dogs. Nice find
  21. Not to bad got a few, I took a bit of footage of the property and the surrounding area, will post when I edit it.
