  2. Hi my Name is Doug I have been called disabled in a roundabout way, and most women thing I’m a special needs person, oh and I don’t have a lot of money. LOL Just kidding! Very kind offer, like Vin, I would hold back on the locator etc.
  3. Had another very enjoyable day out with the dogs, and ferrets What’s new right? ? I hadn’t been to this property for a few months; last time I was here, there were a lot of kits, so I left them until now. It was a reasonably successful day, and good to see a few fox’s about, don’t normally see many in the day time here, will be spotlighting here over the next month that’s for sure. Next few days here will be over 35 degrees Celsius, at least the dogs will get a well earned rest to freshen them up, they are feeling the pinch a bit, after a heavy couple of weeks. Hope you enjoy the vi

Best dog I had of this breed Best dog I owned of this breed, was a dog called spring man could he jump, can be seen here top left, made hares look slow, turned pretty well, loved fox's, Roos and pigs, got killed by a big boar in the end. never seen one as good as him, a true all-rounder, and is a legend in this house :-)

  14. I cover a lot of ground, and get the opportunity to see a variety of areas at different stages of resilience. Let me try to explain, the first year an area experiences any variant of RHD, it is it’s most effective year, every subsequent year it becomes less and less effective, so much so that the need for variants of the currently used variety need to be introduced to have any effect at all, that being said, it is still just a mutated variant of the original strain, to which they have already obtained a certain amount of increasing resilience and in some areas completely immune, from wha
  15. In recent times I have seen a huge increase in populations that have been scarce in those areas for years, I was talking to a mate today who said 3 months ago he had huge numbers and now about half the amount with no mixo in the area yet, another farmer I have permission on his place let go the latest strain of RHD and had virtually no effect according to him and from what I can see his numbers are increasing dramatically, they also bait and plough, and still can’t control them. My opinion is if you are in an area where they can breed and bounce back they will, it appears as the years go
  16. Havn't tried yet, the one to the north is a tidal salt lake, the one to the left is fresh water and should hold plenty of yabbies I just hope he lets me at them :-)
  17. Shit news! hope it all goes well.
  18. Great photos thz for sharing! This is what you need Ray
  19. I hunt mainly in Vic and N.S.W that video is on a property in Vic, where the farmer has a lot of trouble with rabbits, pindone ( they dont touch it to much good feed on the ground) and rhd have very little to drop the numbers, he also ploughs them, they just dig them out again just got to look at the size of the burrows he has exspensive cross country horses bolting round those paddocks, and thats a lot of holes to snap a leg in, not to mention the amount of feed they eat.
  20. That’s the biggest problem, it’s hard, if not impossible to stop some dogs defending themselves, and you can’t blame them really. I still get that now and it’s dangerous when these dogs flip the switch, they do some damage and then they want to blame your dog ffs. If a dog is antisocial and you want to take it in public, you should keep it muzzled until educated. I agree mate puppy obedience solves a lot of heartache and hard work correcting later, take all mine now not so much for training can do that at home, but more for the social aspect, and a good yarn
  21. Me too Arry I sit and watch them for hours, a never ending source of entertainment right there my friend.
  22. Good to see you out and about Ray, enjoy buddy.
  23. Just a little video of the kits I have kept playing together. Graces Kit Stumpy is a few weeks older, I called the little polecat Spice and the BEW's Tilly, and Pip, I cant wait to get them out in the field to see if my breeding program is in fact improving the line for my type of ferreting, only time will tell. I will introduce them around the six month old mark.
