  1. Of course they do, some dogs exhibit more than others, inherent traits can be bred in and out, instinct not so much, it just is
  2. Just turned 7 weeks, Gave him a dead rabbit today, he went mental shook it, then took off with it round the back yard, been here before that pup.
  3. I dont use a Bedlington, but I do like them, at least she is a terrier, like yours not often wrong.
  4. If your dog can catch them, you would be surprised how easy they can be knocked off balance in full flight, and tumble. That’s when it’s dangerous, dogs stand in front and hold the roo down get kicked and killed, smart dogs stand behind and hold them down by the neck, while the dog learns where not to stand is heart in mouth stuff
  5. It would a good idea to make ALL owners do a certificate, to learn the traits, and how to handle, train, and socialise the breed they have selected. Yea Ray will put her to another pure bred apbt
  6. Everything best alrounder bar none imo
  7. Mate I was running greyhound x bulls 35 years ago
  8. ALL ferrets left for a length of time in the wild in Australia develop foot rot and die. Thats why we dont have wild polecats
  9. the stag/grey was a couple of generations back, so I kind of know what I was getting, exactly whet I need for what I'm doing now,. Yes Ray all the others are Girls last one will be fixed before he is ready to mount, except the bigger apbt that will be kept at my Daughters might breed her later on.
  10. My other running dog is 2 1/2 now she was brought up with them, toughens them up
  11. I understand your concerns, most of the fatal transferable diseases such as parvo, distemper etc are pretty easy to diagnose, I treated all the ferrets yesterday for foot rot just in case, I have done this all before, It’s all good mate been round ferrets for 45 years +. I'll keep ya posted on the progress, hopefully she will be a half decent ferret.
  12. Fleet 20/3/18 - No mucking around, day two I'm liking what I see! Just checking him out see what his nature is like so I can see the best approach for his personality in regards to training, he seems very confident should be an easy one.
  13. It will finish between 19 - 23 I would think, and as light as a feather, and by the end of his career wil have caught more than I can remember, if he stays sound.
  14. I will keep you posted on her
  15. I’m your Huckleberry that’s just my game!

  19. Yesterday I got a Phone call from one of my permissions property owner, saying his neighbour had found a ferret, and would I like to come take it? I told him I would be out there first thing this morning; I got there and took a look, a small young Jill, this years by the look of her. The poor thing looked starving, had foot rot, and mange, I tried to pick her up, she was as savage as a wild polecat and immediately locked on to my hand, I put her in my cage brought her home and treated her for the conditions She looks well bred and will make a full recovery I have no doubt.
  20. They still struggle when it’s too hot, but yes they acclimatise to some degree, they don’t really know any different. Their soundness and ability to run continually on hard ground is the thing that’s most important, but they have been bred here for such a long time, hundreds of years, it’s an inherent trait with the old lines, the imported stuff can be a worry, I steer clear of that.
