Me eldest daughter was grilling me last night while out with the dog about mushroom hotspots round here as I was a fcuker when I was younger! kids think it hilarious that I use to drop me brothers off in middle of nowhere with carrier bags when they were at school? they got paid well?

Last nights mega mooner was working a field of beans parallel to stubble, watched it do an airborne attack on a pheasant when it broke cover.. it did connect but lost its grip and gave chase through the beans to no avail and came back 5 mins later, could see it all the time trying to find it! thought that makes a change, it’s usually me looking all over the spot? the wind was in my favour and a great big pile of manure was keeping the moon off me.. watched it trot 300 yards towards me and bout 100 yard out, gave it a squeak it stoped.. boom!

It just had a massive list of all the big pike caught going back donkeys years all over the uk and Ireland . he asked about a spot near him so I gave him the book as it had the lake in and some history on it?! Them drifter floats are good for covering large spots with good braid on.

Just been with a mate this afternoon talking about going on a full blown pike mission this winter… no lakes with named fish just wild river fish. me first 25lbd 20 year ago:) this books not exactly a read but an insight as to what’s the unexpected

Been a long time since I was out with runners.. 18month old and mega game? 24” the mix stands out a mile. fence blew down so I bodged it with chicken wire but she loves being nosey so it’s not been fixed? -

Same as you sl.. I check when I do a new batch or if I miss something and I felt confident it was a good shot. The pard was on a rifle that long that I had to Google how to zero it when I put it on a different gun.. it had been bouncing round back of the truck for about 8 months dropped in the field and was still bang on. my 6.5 scope has never been touched since I fitted it years ago and between new batches of home loads it’s only ever been half a bullet poi shift -
Probably not… the rural crew are fcukin idiots, they’ll only give lads with guns shit cos they ain’t got the arse to go out on a night in case they get filled in?? ive got to point now I couldn’t give a fcuk about losing me licence and I’ll forfeit it.. A few that fell out of the sky a few weeks back?

not shot sqizers in volume for years… there were loads of grants given out round here and they put teams of trappers and shooters out! got to admit they were pretty efficient bar the only pinemartin I’ve ever seen? air gun still the best way to tackle a wood and they love a good snak -
